I think we maybe have images of a proto-Lance.

Shane Prigmore drew this guy twice, and I know the executive producer claimed that Lance was designed after James Monroe Iglehart, because that's who they wanted to voice him, but from my understanding, they had conceptualized of a "Eugene's best friend from the orphanage/his thieving days" before they had settled on who exactly Lance was.

This guy has a very distinctive look, and that look semi-mirror's Eugene's, is in Lance's primary colors, wears wrist bracers, plus an early concept of Lance (as Lance) carries a sword with a basket hilt and has a strap across his chest.

I'm just saying, the incidental resemblance is uncanny.

Things the RPC needs to remember:

You GOTTA reblog your mutuals' self-promos! This is how we spread the word about what characters are available to the community

If someone posts a meme, send them something, even if you don't feel like writing, yourself, at the moment! It takes way less effort for you to copy/paste a question or symbol than it does for them to reply to it, and this lets them know there are people interested in interacting with them!

Talk to them outside of RP in the DMs! This establishes a friendship between you, which will make you both more excited to write with each other!

Use open communication! This is everything from screaming about your co-written ship to telling them when you're just not feeling a thread anymore, and want to drop it, to the fact that you might be in a funk and not up to writing at all for a while. This helps prevent people from feeling like they've been forgotten or abandoned. (Generalized posts about your current status are also helpful.)

Actually look at each other's pages occasionally! Don't just rely on your dash feed, see what your mutes are up to, in case you missed something. If you're feeling ignored, they might be feeling the same way.

It seems to me that we've all been suffering a lot from wanting more interactions but not being willing to talk to people about it. We sit quietly, hoping for interaction, and when we don't get it, we don't reach out, we just assume that no one's listening.

see ok am i just missing something because when DOES lance show back up after his initial ep. like he just leaves at the end of the return of strongbow, and then all of a sudden hes just there in pascals story? am i missing something here

What you're missing is that the S1 episodes were aired out of order. The actual production order (with Lance's episodes bolded) are:

And while this still doesn't explain exactly when he showed back up, it does show how people react to him being there, and it starts to make a bit more sense.

At the end of “The Return of Strongbow,” there is a sense that Lance leaves the town (probably to go camp out in the woods or hang out at the Snuggly Duckling). In “Queen For a Day,” Frederic doesn’t know who he is, by name, he just recognizes him as Eugene’s friend. But by “Painter’s Block,” he’s pretty comfy around the castle, and even Cassandra, which means he’s been hanging out a lot more than we see. So I think he was invited to stay sometime after “Queen For a Day,” possibly as a reward for being a part of the rescue team that came after Frederic and Arianna, and for quite literally saving Frederic’s life.

Follow up from yesterday.

So, in the wake of my precious baby boy unexpectedly dying, my sister and I decided to also adopt a new cat. We'd been considering a third cat for some time, and it seemed like the perfect distraction. With the promise to ourselves that we were not determined to find a new cat, but if someone clicked with us, we'd take them, we went to the local animal shelter.

The girl we found is about the same size as my other cat, who is 7. She's 2, just got spayed (after being found on the streets with a litter of kittens), and the incision site is infected. We decided to adopt despite that, in part because I figured she'd recover better in a home than in a shelter, and partly because she was purring after mere minutes of us saying hi to her. Fortunately for us, there were no adoption fees yesterday. Unfortunately for us, we had to take her straight to the vet, because no one at the shelter was authorized to dispense her antibiotics. Doubling back on fortunately, we did get a voucher for a free initial check up and up to $250 off treatment if anything was found.

So the visit fee was waived, and we got $250 off her meds and the cleanup of the wound site. Still, it was an all-day endeavor, from Banjo dying at 8:30 am and us getting the new girl home after 4 pm.

She's currently settled in my sister's room, regaining some personality as she gains her confidence. So far, she's very sweet, not at all afraid of us, but she likes to tuck herself into a corner when she wants to sleep. It's still easy to get her to purr, she's curious and inquisitive, she hates the cone of shame she has to wear while the site heals, but she's managing to get around. She even managed to jump up onto a short bookshelf with it on. She's figured out what the door to the room is, and would very much like to see the rest of the apartment. This morning, we named her Freya.

I am still so crushed that Banjo is gone. I miss him so much. But Freya's helping to fill the void a bit (it'll be much better once she's not wearing the cone and is allowed in the rest of the house and can act like a cat), and she's certainly a distraction.

TW animal death

My cat just died, extremely abruptly. Yesterday, he fell off the kitchen counter. We weren't in there to witness it, so we're not sure of the exact circumstances or order of events. Right after the fall, he hunkered down and wouldn't move and was just yowling piteously. But in less than a minute, he was back on his feet. We gave him a treat, hoping it would be like a toddler who needed to be distracted from a fall, and that seemed to work. Pretty soon he was almost completely back to normal, and by the end of the night, he was 100% fine. Or seemed to be.

Things were going fine this morning. He was sitting beside us on the couch. Then he suddenly got off and hunkered down in a place he doesn't usually sit. When my sister moved her feet to check on him, he bolted a few feet away. Then he started yowling, much worse than yesterday, seized, and died. It was very sudden, and over in a matter of minutes. We're now wondering if something being wrong is what caused the fall in the first place, or if he hurt himself much worse than he appeared to have.

Anyway...
