I'm currently actively preparing for an art exhibition. Occasionally, rather frightening sceneries appear on our work desks during the process. They're just painted plastic parts. It's as if they're about to go somewhere…

smaller thread, smaller hook
after this I found a much much older video (six years) of almost the same hat, but that has several differences in rows and I think I'll try it next for more volume and a bigger brim
(kinda hate how crochet content is just endlessly regurgitated slash outright stolen and presented as new videos ... can never find the original maker of anything 😞 )

Gale was raised with love and care; all his problems were the result of his own mistakes, decisions for which he paid himself, blaming no one. Octavian, on the other hand, was deprived of a normal childhood. Abandoned and unloved, he was shaped by harsh conditions and learned early that with his own body he could obtain certain privileges. And although some of the young spawn's actions are difficult to see from a humane point of view, Gale is patient with Octavian.
This was a bit of an experiment.
The brown braids in the front are what was left from the hair I bought from Shimmer Locks.
All of the black "braids" actually came from a roll of micro cord fiber. It mimics microbraids pretty well.
My concern now is whether or not a hot water rinse will lay them down and set the part.
Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I think there are people here who will appreciate the blatant use of sprue frames on this super low budget spaceship
I showed this to Husband, who noticed that there are still some things on the most visible sprue; considering that the movie was made in Italy, he suspects that sprue was from an Italeri tank model
He also thinks the visible side of the structure that the sprue is glued on is part of a model aircraft kit
( May 2025 ) Customhouse Choa! She came with a layer of eyeliner and sealant and nothing else but I tried to keep her faceup fairly light. I was inspired by a Tianba tutorial where they used pastel only to draw the lashes but I did use some paint in the end too.
Sometimes I forget to post projects here, the one place I could write a whole wall of text in!
I saw this body on ig and it had a backstory, but as soon as I saw it, I had to message the owner to buy it! I was originally going to do another kintsugi/visibly broken doll, but I’ve been challenging myself to do different things this year, like I used to when I was fresher to the hobby!
Step 1 was gluing everything together with loctite and reinforcing the insides with apoxie sculpt. Step 2 was finding a head and purpose for this. Luckily I have plenty of floating heads!
This one had more intact pieces, and it could almost pass as normal once everything was put together. All fingers and toes fit, all joints and the only thing u was missing was one half of an elbow peanut. The one piece I couldn’t reinforce lest it look weird were the fingers. I will look for some gold rings to cover them!
Stay tuned for what this will become!
when i was a kid, we had this variety of bleeding heart plant growing in our yard:
i thought they looked like translucent fairies wearing poofy pants. i was recently reminded of this & wanted to make a translucent fairy in poofy pants.
i love how the transparent parts turned out and absolutely want to experiment more with this technique. i printed the inner skeletal parts as normal, and then printed a one-walled shell with no infill out of transparent filament. i cut the shell open in the back and slid the skeleton inside. the outer layer of the head doesn't have eyes sockets, which makes the eyes hazy.
for the head & back frills i printed a one-layer sheet out of the same filament, cut the shapes out of that, and bent it into shape using a heat gun and hot glue.
It’s spring!
