BIOGRAPHY
born into old money, adaline grew up being the youngest and the only girl in the family. growing up, she was doted upon by her father and was pretty much treated like a princess. despite being spoiled rotten, she remained surprisingly sweet-natured and outgoing. whatever she had, she didn't mind sharing it with her friends. she enjoyed spoiling her friends and didnât realize that some people were just using her for her money.
the move to aurora bay has been a difficult one for addie, especially leaving all of her friends behind. it took her some time before she was able to adapt with her peers in aurora bay high school, but when she did, she slowly won them over with her enthusiasm and warmth.Â
but still, she did have a little trouble with her academics. where her brothers excelled, addie didn't quite did so in academics, she wasn't dumb per se, but she wanted to do many things at once that she couldn't just quite focus on one thing. adaline juggled a dizzying number of extracurriculars under her belt. from the drama club to art and tennis, to debate and student council, she threw herself into everything with passion. yet through it all, her heart always returned to the arts and the joy of creating.
although she debated whether to take art history or architecture, she ended up taking the latter in cornell university in new york with some strings pulled by their parents. in college, she finally found her calling and she became more focused in her studies. she still had her extracurriculars, but she's learned how to manage them better now. her familyâs connections opened doors to internships at prestigious architectural firms, giving her valuable experience in the field.
eventually, addie returned to aurora bay to start her own firm with a couple of friends. they began with modest, local projects, but thanks to a combination of talent and the right connections, their reputation grew steadily. before long, they were managing larger developments across different cities, building a name that carried weight well beyond their coastal hometown.
it was during one of the many social events tied to their growing success that adaline met the man who would become her husband. if you asked her, sheâd describe it as nothing short of a fairytaleâlove at first sight, the kind of meeting that feels plucked straight from a storybook. their whirlwind romance moved quickly, and within a year of meeting, the two were married. after the wedding, she moved with him to england to begin their new life together.
the first year of their marriage was straight out of a montage of a film, just two newlyweds with money to burn traveling around the world. but once the honeymoon glow faded, she began laying down roots again. she opened a london branch of her firm, which flourished under her direction.
things were falling into place and not long after, she discovered that she was pregnant. it hadnât been planned, but the news brought a deep and genuine joy to both her and her husband. unfortunately, the stress of work took a toll on her health, and she suffered a miscarriage, a devastating blow that she struggled to acknowledge even to herself. instead, she buried the pain under long hours and forced smiles, convincing herself she was fine.
a year later, they were blessed with a second pregnancy. this time, her mother-in-law stepped in with firm advice: rest. take it slow. prioritize the baby. though it was difficult to step away from her work, adaline chose to listen, wanting to give her child the best possible chance. months later, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl named dorothea grace beaumont.
adaline didn't mind being a stay-at-home mom. dotty was her world. but the dynamic at home soon became strained. with her husband constantly away on business trips, her mother-in-law took on a more active role. at first, it was welcomed. but what started as help quickly turned into control. addie found herself increasingly sidelined in her own home, her voice diminished in decisions about her daughter and their lives. despite raising her concerns with her husband, he brushed them off, insisting that his mother only wanted the best for dotty.
not wanting to create friction, she complied for a while. but the breaking point came the day she overheard her mother-in-law harshly scolding dotty for a minor accident. that was it for her. adaline could tolerate a lot, but not that. not when it came to her daughter.
packing just some of their things, she left a note for her husband to find when he returns, and took dotty back to the one place she could always call home.
A relieved, grateful smile tugged at his lips as Adaline waved off his mishap so graciously. "Thank you. I swear I'm not always this clumsy," he clarified, a huff of laughter following. "It's not usually so crowded. Which is great, you know, I'm glad they're getting business, but..." He waved a hand then as if in dismissal of his own rambling. "I think I just underestimated how full it would be today."
His eyes then drifted to the empty chair she had so kindly offered. While the invitation was unexpected, it was greatly appreciated. "Oh... Well, if you don't mind the company, I'd be glad to join you. Thank you." He shifted the stack of essays under his arm before placing them on the table beside his coffee, moving to sit across from her. "Having company can do wonders for productivity." There was a softness in his tone now, a hint of shyness found amidst quiet warmth. "I'm ElĂas, by the way," he offered a hand then, steady and kind.
" it happens to the best of us, " she waved off with a smile since it was pretty much unavoidable with how packed the cafe is right now. " really? i thought they would always be packed--the coffee's brilliant. i quite like the atmosphere though. all the background chatterâs rather comforting, in a strange way. it's just hard finding an open seat though the few times i've been here, " addie mused with a chuckle as she glanced around the place.
" not at all--please, i'd love the company, " she mentioned as she gestured to the vacant seat. noticing the stack of papers he placed on the table as he took the seat in front of her, her eyes flicked back to his face with mild curiosity. he looks like a professor, but looks can be deceiving. when he introduced himself, she reached across the table and shook it with a warm smile on her lips. " adaline. lovely to meet you, elias. and youâre not wrong--company does help. at the very least, it makes procrastination feel a little more justified. " // @drvaldes
"Oh, for sure. I mean, safe in the way it's safe for teenagers and adults."
Paxton carefully cuts a piece of cardboard out for a palette if she is to donate and participate. "In that," he adds, directing his attention back to her. "It's non-toxic on your skin, and it won't kill you if you eat it, but I highly recommend against it. Basically, if your little one - hi, by the way-" Pax waves at her, his smile softening at the design on her shirt.
" i understand--i'd rather not risk it anyway, " the brunette answered with a small nod, her tone calm but resolute. s he knew it would disappoint dotty, but someone has to be the grown up.
addie glanced down at the three-year-old beside her, softening her expression into an apologetic smile. " you heard what he said, love. maybe when you're a bit bigger, yeah? " defeated, dotty pouted at her, her lower lip jutting out into a slight wobble but she simply nodded her head, quiet and obedient. she always was. she never threw a tantrum, never made a fuss--just that wide-eyed look of disappointment that made adaline feel like the worst mother in the world. she didn't really like seeing that look on her daughter's face so she leaned in with a bright smile, " how about we get some ice before the parade? maybe even one with sprinkles? " and that did the trick. dotty's eyes lit up, her little hands clapping together as she gave an enthusiastic nod.
adaline straightened and turned back to the man, a sheepish smile tugging at her lips. " would it be alright if i just made a donation instead? sorry for wasting your time with the speech and all. " // @paxton-brady
Eddie chuckled lightly, shaking his head at her comment. "Well, you're right about her being the daughter of my favorite sister. It's not like I have any other...that we're aware of. Anything is possible with our father." he added, more as a jest than anything else. But it would definitely not be the most surprising thing for them to find out that there were any other siblings out there. It would not be the first time it occurred in their family.
"Nonsense. Anything you need -and I mean it. If not for you, then for my baby Dotty." he added with a warm smile. It was nice to have her close and be able to help her in her time of need. Had he been aware of her situation sooner, he would've urged her to come home and give her husband a piece of his mind -which he definitely still had it coming the second Eddie found himself in London again. "Yea, I think you can give it a couple more weeks before you find yourself in that drama." Without a doubt, their family was going to overreact about the situation -as they often did.
"Is it weird being back here, though? Have you run into any old friends?"
a slight grimace tugged on her lips at eddie's comment, reminding her that it was definitely a possibility that they have some long lost sibling somewhere out there. " i wouldn't be surprised if we have one out there, but if we did, he really ought to have introduced her sooner to us. you know i love you, boys, but i've always wanted a sister, too-- " she remarked in jest though there was a half truth to her sentiment. growing up in a household with only brothers, she never really had someone to share clothes with or to whisper about crushes late at night. heaven knows if she'd ever confessed to liking someone, her brothers would've either taunted her or gone after the poor boy.
still, as eddie's tone shifted to something sincere, addie felt her smile soften. at the end of the day, maybe she didn't really need a sister when she's got a brother like eddie, someone she could always rely on. and though she knew it was inevitable to come clean to their family, she'd rather avoid it as long as she can. " i'm not really looking forward to that. you'll be there, right? when i finally tell them? " she muttered under her breath, suddenly feeling like she was nine years old again, hiding behind his back after breaking something in the house.
at eddie's question, addie crossed her arms together as she thought of the question. strangely enough, it wasn't as weird as she was expecting it to be. honestly, it felt like she was coming home. london has been her home for the past few years, but it started feeling less like home the past few months and coming back here, it felt like she could breath again. shaking her head, she answered thoughtfully, " not really--i loved this place growing up, so it's actually pretty nice. and nope, i'm still trying to keep a low profile. " // @eddieferguson
For someone who was still relatively new to Aurora Bay, he was quite the regular at the town's coffee shop. They already knew his name and typical order, as well as which small table tucked away in the corner he'd so often retreat to. Today, however, the cafe was more crowded than usual, and in trying to maneuver through the narrow space with a fresh cup of coffee in one hand and a stack of papers tucked under the other arm, ElĂas misjudged the angle. The corner of the nearby table caught his hip just enough to jolt it, and a splash of the other's drink sloshed out over the lid.
"Oh sh- I'm so sorry, that was completely my fault," he said quickly but sincerely. A quick glance told him that the nudge wasn't enough to make too much of their drink pour out nor did it seem to hit anyone, but it was enough to have him reaching for the nearest napkin right away. "It didn't get on you, did it? I can replace your drink if so... Or even if it didn't, still." A faint and sheepish smile followed as he moved to dab his napkin over the small splash on their table.
adaline had her head buried in her laptop as she rendered the interior design for a freelance gig she'd pick up online. it was nothing as big as the ones she used to do from before, but everyone's gotta start somewhere again. lost in the details of her clientâs vision, she barely noticed when her coffee cup wobbled and a small splash hit the table. startled, she glanced up to find someone standing nearby, an apologetic look on their face.
there was no real damage done, so addie simply laughed it off as she waved their apology. " don't worry about it--there's no harm done. " and when they began to dab the napkin over the small splash on the table, addie hurriedly move to take the napkin from them, " oh no please--just let me do that. " it was only then that she looked around and realized how packed the coffee shop had become. " if youâre looking for a seat, that oneâs open, " she nodded toward the empty chair across from her. // @drvaldes
Nari wasn't big into rides or games at carnivals but she loved the snacks and people watching. With a baseball cap on to hopefully keep people from recognizing her, she walked around the boardwalk with a plate of funnel cake. When she stumbled upon the dunk tank, she couldn't help but smile at how silly the whole thing was.
"Now this might be a carnival game I'd actually like to play." She laughed. "You gonna try it? I don't have the greatest throw, but I'd def try it."
adaline followed the woman's gaze to the dunk tank and chuckled, watching as some poor volunteer braced for another inevitable splash. " i'm not sure, " she said with a sheepish grin as she turned to look at her, " i mean iâd feel quite bad if i actually hit the target. " she laughed lightly, shaking her head. " besides, i probably wouldn't be able to hit it even if I tried. but you should give it a shot. " // @minxnari
Gabby was flicking through apps on her phone while waiting in line, somewhat zoning out from the chaos of the carnival around her. Wilder was with Maia, so Gabby was letting her guard down, not having to keep an eye out for her kid. Even though Wilder was older now, the brunette still barely let him out of her sight when they were in busy environments like this. Just force of habit. So when the question was abruptly shot her way, it took Gabby a second to process it, zoning back in. "Oh, um..." She glanced towards the glass, a gentle shrug falling from her shoulders. "I mean, cotton candy sounds pretty sweet." Not that she'd tried it herself. @adalinehq
" you're right about that. it does look sweet and colorful, " adaline noted, eyeing the cotton candy ice cream with a colorful blue base and specks of pink and green swirls. it looked like a sugar rush waiting to happen. " so sweet that it would definitely give her a sugar high, " adaline commented with a little grimace since everyone knows what sugar does to kids and her daughter wouldn't be immune to it either. but the excitement in her little girl's eye was hard to resist and she can never really say no to her. after a brief pause and one more glance at the treat, addie gave a small nod and turned back to the person behind the counter., " i think i'll get one cotton candy ice cream in a cone, please. " // @gabby-anderson
dottie has insisted that she wanted the huge teddy beard hanging above the bottle ring toss booth and adaline, as always, has no other choice but to abide. however, after her 10th attempt, she has yet to even land one ring where it was supposed to. with a heavy sigh, she looked at her hopeful daughter then back at the game. " i think the game is rigged, " the brunette declared with a resigned smile before turning to the person next to her, holding out the next ring, " or maybe i'm just really hopeless at this. do you wanna give it a shot? "
there was an assortment of ice cream flavors in front of them and adaline couldn't quite pick one since her daughter was requesting for something colorful. she didn't think she would ever say this but it was way easier when dotty just wanted anything chocolate. dotty stood patiently next to her, swinging their hands together while waiting for addie to make up her mind. but considering how indecisive she can be, she couldn't settle on a flavor that she was sure dotty would love. turning to the person next to them in the queue, she offered a small, apologetic smile and asked, " do you think strawberry or cotton candy would satisfy the sweet tooth of a picky eater? or if you have any other suggestions? "
OPEN STARTER at the body paint both during the pride event @aurorabaystarter
"Yeah, so, it's five dollars, and we give you three to five colors of your choice, with a couple of refills if needed â just don't get greedy, we will have to cut you off."
Paxton laughs to himself about it as he straightens the signage with the QR code on it. "You also can't travel far, gotta make sure no one is going to be throwing paint at trees or people or anything even if it's non-toxic and comes off with water."
"Oh! And proceeds go to the Trevor Project. So, what do you say? Was I convincing?"
the parade has yet to start and they still had some time to wander around the grounds when something bright and colorful caught their eye. it was almost instinctive, the way dotty tugged at adaline's hand with wide-eyed excitement, pulling her toward a booth splashed in color.
like mother, like daughter it seemed.
now, adaline stood in front of the booth attentively listening to the person in charge as they explained how it works. the three-year old girl stood beside her, tiny fingers curled tightly around addie's hand. she was listening just as intently, though her understanding was probably more in tone than in words. still, her eyes sparkled with curiosity.
when he finished his little speech, addie finally broke the silence, lifting her brows slightly. " very convincing, but i just have one question. is it safe for kids? " she queried with a half-smile as her little girl donned with a love wins shirt and rainbow layered tutu skirt enthusiastically waits next to her. // @paxton-brady

Where: Sana's house
Sana hands the coffee to her company sitting on the other side of the table, hoping the warm drink was enough to pay back for having company on a dreary afternoon.
"Here we go." She loved having company, hearing the tales of other peoples lives helped her brain from straying away from not so pleasant thoughts of life. It was easy when you lived alone. "Now, what were we talking about before I got up to make coffee?"
" thank you, " adaline uttered softly as she took the warm cup of coffee, setting it down carefully on the coaster to ensure it wouldn't leave a mark on the table.
leaning forward from her seat, she resumed, " oh--i was just saying how dotty will be starting pre-school soon and i haven't decided if i should enroll her or just get some private tutors, you know? i do want her to meet kids her age and make friends, but i just feel nervous about letting her out of my sight so soon. what do you think? " the brunette turned to sana, seeking her advice on the matter. // @sanabashir
"You're right," SJ nodded in agreement. She couldn't knock it down until she tried it at least. The amount of people waiting in line hopefully meant it would be a good experience. "That definitely counts. I feel like us girlies know good coffee. I am definitely new here. It's quite a lovely town though. I am obsessed with the beach!! I live up north and our beaches could never. My oldest is mad 'cause I didn't bring her with me."
" i'd like to think i do, but i actually prefer tea nowadays, " she admitted with a soft chuckle. in the past few years, she realized she needed the calm that drinking tea and honey brings her but right now, she definitely needs something strong to keep her awake. when they mentioned the beaches, she couldn't help but agree wholeheartedly, " i definitely missed the beaches here. i'll probably be taking my little girl soon. how old is yours? maybe another time you can bring her, too. " // @sjwalsh
âI just found it like this,â Benj sighs, still staring at the mess. âI left to get food while my clothes washed, and came back to, uhââ He pointedly waves an arm at the whole scene. ââthis.â
Problem solving machines definitely isnât Benjâs forte, and he didnât jump into that mode when he mostly was just accepting another loss. âOf course, theâ turn it off, turn it back onâ methodâŠâ he mutters to himself, tip-toeing through the water to press the power button.
âYou donât think itâll need a hard reset?â
honestly, it was the only advice she could give considering she's not very handy with machines either. it's probably not even a helpful one, but it's worth a try, right? still, when they asked her if it needed a hard reset, she pursed her lips together as she admitted quietly, " i'm not really sure. i only know how to use one, but not how to fix one. i think we should call an expert-- "
glancing around the room to see if there was anyone who looked like they can actually help them, she turned back to the male. " i don't think the teenagers over there would know how to fix it either. " // @benj-hyun

"Am I reading this right? I can't be reading this right." Monique stared at the phone with her mouth open ajar and her eyebrows pulled together. "I need a drink after that."
" what is it? " adaline asked the woman sitting across her from the cafe, intrigued coloring over her features as to what they might have read. // @moniquexsilva
Many of Ramseyâs days off were spent at her moms; they had been bonding more lately and since they lived close it was easy to just walk over to visit. However as soon as Ramsey was about to head up her driveway after such a visit; she heard a noise and was almost startled. âWhat?â She asked out loud as she followed the noise and saw a few kittens and their mom in a bush. â oh my god â she replied after looking at them a moment and scrambled to try to find something to catch them in so they wouldnât be outside for too long.
After looking through her house she couldnât seem to find anything useful. Not even a cardboard box and she walked back out to see if she could call someone for help. It was only when she heard footsteps that she was pulled from her spot next to the bushes. â excuse me? This is gonna seem random at first but do you have a box or basket? Ideally a cat carrier would be best but Iâm willing to try anything â
adaline has convinced herself that this was a good time as any to come clean to her parents about moving back to aurora bay.it has been almost two weeks since she'd returned and yet, she felt like a fugitive trying to sneak around and avoiding them like some kind of criminal. but as she walked down the familiar streets, the weight of her decision began to feel heavier. no. she can't do this. not yet. instead, she made the decision to head back to her new house and relieve the babysitter for the afternoon, at least giving herself more time before facing the inevitable.
but just as she turned around ready to leave, she heard someone calling out to her. " a what now? " she asked them with a raised brow, before hearing the quiet meow from the bushes. " are there kittens there? i don't really have anything on me right now, but i can help you carry them somewhere if you want. " she took a step closer, already kneeling down to see how many there were. helping them felt like the right thing to do, and for a moment, it distracted her from the bigger problem waiting back at home. // @missxrivera
A light chuckle left his lips as he followed her into the home. One thing all of his nieces and nephews had in common was that they all favored him. Which was no surprises as he was the one that'd give them whatever fun things wanted, with and without the approval of their parents. It was his job to spoil, not parent them. "She better be. There's a lot of competition here with Emma and Mari." he said, referring to his other two nieces.
The aroma of the food was delightful. Clearly, Adaline had taken after their grandmother with her cooking skills. The rest of them (the boys) were completely useless in the kitchen, mostly for lack of trying. They were very spoiled growing up with plenty of house staff to makeup for their otherwise busy schedules. His grandmother was the only one to busy herself in the kitchen from time to time, making her famous Welsh cakes, cawls and other homely foods to give them a 'taste of home'.
"You don't need to thank me. What's mine is yours, love." he smiled. Eddie had always been very protective of his siblings, her especially. "Anything you need, just let me know and I'll get it for you." The man said as he followed her into the kitchen. "I don't blame you. Dad's gonna go off on one, mind, but I advice you to not tell your other brothers just yet either. You know what Rhys is like -bloody snitch, he is."
with a playful grin tugging on her lips, she shot eddie a teasing look, " competition? there's no competition here. how can there be when she's the only daughter of your favorite sister? " not that he has any other sister than her. nonetheless, she was sure that living closer to her cousins would also do dotty some good since she didn't really have any cousins on her father side just yet. being the first granddaughter had its perks, but it also meant addie's mother-in-law tended to hover a little too much.
adaline made her way to the kitche, checking on the roast beef in the oven. it was almost there--just a few more minutes until it would be perfect. growing up as the only girl in the family, she was pretty much the only one among her siblings who has actually taken a liking to cooking probably due to the influence of their grandmother. whenever their grandmother was around, the family only ever ate homemade dishes, not the polished meals cooked by their private chefs. there was something about those meals that had always felt warmer, more real.
turning to eddie with a small but genuine smile, she told him softly, " i don't want to be an imposition, eddie--but i really appreciate it, " she she didn't really want to trouble him, but who else could she rely on during these times if not her brother? rolling her eyes slightly at the mention of their older brother, she agreed, " nope--i can just imagine their reaction. it wouldn't even be an hour before rhys is tattling to dad and then mom would find out and you know how she gets. " // @eddieferguson
If karma wasn't satisfied in killing his home washer and drier for all of his shenanigans she definitely decided tonight was the night to drive the point home. In the way the washing machine his clothes are now stuck in, and in the way it's started leaking as of...
However many minutes ago.
Benj stepped out to get take-out in that forty-five minute window just to find his clothes are not washed, he cannot access them, and he just might be responsible for growing puddle.
"Look, it wasn't me, but don't slip," he quickly blurts before the nearest person walks through it. "I don't know how to stop it, but it was like that when I got back."
adaline hadn't expected her quiet afternoon to involve another malfunctioning washing machine. with her own washer at home out of commission, sheâd resorted to google maps to find the nearest laundromat since they were running out of clothes and she could only reuse a shirt one too many times.
she arrived with a laundry basket balanced in her arms, trying to find an unoccupied machine. but just as she stepped toward what looked like an available one, she nearly slipped on an unassuming puddle spreading across the floor. addie stopped herself just in time as someone voice rang through, her eyes flicking downward before landing on the nearby machine clearly responsible for the leak.
her gaze shifted to the man standing beside it, looking a little guilty even when he tries to deny it. " have you tried switching it off? " she asked, placing the basket down on a bench. " or should we call someone out front to fix this? " // @benj-hyun
