"Oh, great. That's just great." Adalyn mumbled as she looked down at the coffee she had let slip from her hands. "I'm so sorry. I'll make you a new one right now."

"Oh, great. That's just great." Adalyn mumbled as she looked down at the coffee she had let slip from her hands. "I'm so sorry. I'll make you a new one right now."
“You come on, you’ll adjust in no time.”
"Ah, okay okay. If I die I'm finding a way to come back as a ghost and haunt your ass." Adalyn said before jumping in.
“Okay. Fair warning, there isn’t a whole lot to do here. But there’s always tv and thats never failed me before.”
"Fine by me. As long as we can watch something good."
“You aren’t silly to worry, everyone does that. But it is silly to think that you’re anything less than wonderful. It should be here any minute now. In fact, I think I heard the delivery guy pull up, so it is now the responsibility of one of us to get up and answer the door.”
"Don't look at me, you're the older sister. The responsibility is all yours." Adalyn said with a smile.
“Me too, me too. I like movies more though.”
"You see the problem with movies is, they have to be really good to keep my attention. Otherwise I get kind of bored."
“My bad. I forget that you are a Maxfield legacy. What do they have you reading over there, huh? Stephen Hawking?”
"Hey, I like to read thank you."
“It’s a fun way to meet new people and obviously let loose like you’d like. You’ll enjoy it. Guaranteed.”
"Alright then, let's go."
“You have never been weird. You’re beautiful, funny, and smart. People will love you.”
"I guess I'm being silly. The food should be here soon right? I'm starting."
“I don’t know why I invited you or why you agreed to come if you weren’t going to join.”
"Come on, the water is cold."
“I’m sure it’ll be fun. I just don’t really feel like doing anything today.”
"Oh, alright. We can just stay in then."
“I guess college kind of forced me to do it, and work. I like to be by myself, too, and you can still spend time with just yourself. You just have to know when the situation calls for putting yourself out there, and you do it.”
"And what if people don't like me? What if I'm weird little Adalyn forever?" She sighed.
“They can be, but they’re not exactly for the casual reader,” he pointed out, somewhat impressed by her interest in what he considered complicated writings. He opened the door to his study and offered her the first entry. “Feel free to browse. Family privilege.” He didn’t make it obvious to most the sanctity of his study, or home for that matter, but he would sooner maim a stranger than allow them within a foot of his collection.
"Well, I'm not exactly a causal reader." Adalyn answered walking over to a book shelf and taking a look.
“Yeah, there’s one that’s not too far from here. It’ll be a new experience for you, but I’m sure you’ll like it,” she smiled. “I’ll stick with you the entire night, I promise.”
"Thank you. It seems like it could be a good way to meet some new people, open up a bit."
He grinned at her politeness. “Not sure. I’ve one myself, the rest are just some I picked up along the way – a small bookshelf’s worth.”
"I was just curious. You know, even if I never find the answers to what I'm looking for, I think they're fun to read through."
“Oh, come on. You’re amazing, and deserve plenty of friends. It’s probably preaching to the choir, but maybe you should just put yourself out there more.” She suggested, giving her sister a nudge. “Well, one of the good things about college, is that there’s a place for everyone. You just have to find your place.”
"Thank you. I know it's partially my fault, I can be kind of shy and I like to be be myself. I guess I need to open up to people a bit more. How do you do it?"
you're kind and you need to realise people love you, people like me
“I don’t even know what to say... Thank you.”
From Natalie // You, my baby sister, are the brightest part of my life. It has been a journey getting to watch you grow up, and I can’t believe you are about to start college soon! I am beyond proud of the young woman you have became. I want you to know that I’m always here for you, and that I will always stand by you through anything this life throws at you.
“You’re going to make me cry, stop it. I love you, goof.”
