“Would I sound way too much like my father if I said I wanted to start writing in a journal?”
“You know what? I think if writing in a journal makes you happy, you should do it. So long as you write nice things about me in this journal,” she teased.
“Alright then, let’s go.”
“Excellent. Let’s get changed and we’ll head out.”
“with a little help,” he confessed without shame. he knew who to thank for his progress – where credit was due. his smile was optimistic. “can’t be much longer now, hm?”
“i can’t imagine it’d be much longer now,” she admitted with a smile. “considering you’re an old man and all,” she teased.
“I don’t want to talk about it– let’s just focus on this, okay?”
“I don’t even know what this is.”
You’re fantastic. You’re a delight to talk to – clever, sassy; you make socializing fun. Always willing to make me laugh, and hey, you even laugh at my jokes, which I appreciate.
“I’m fantastic? You’re fantastic. And honestly, the fact that you actually laugh at my jokes is the literal best, because sometimes people don’t.”
you're going places, i know you are
“Thank you. That really does mean a lot.”
“Sometimes that world can be better than the reality” he answered. A lot better “Aha.. I see” he chuckled “I usually day dream about the future”
“Indeed it can,” she admitted with a sigh. “Honestly, sometimes I daydream about stupid pointless things.” Peyton looked at Zac. “The future? What about the future?”
“Indeed. I hope the future will be good. Oh by the way, have you watched Dexter’s Laboratory? I know it’s super old but he’s too clever for his own good. He had a time machine. Definitely gonna do that if we still know each other then. Can’t miss them and I know I would be jealous if you saw them without me”
“I definitely hope the future is good. Are you kidding? I used to live for that show, but then I sorta kinda finished it. I’m sure we’ll still know each other, so we’ll consider it a plan. Oh, Alec, don’t worry -- I wouldn’t dare go see the dinosaurs without you.”
“that’s no surprise.” he coated his compliment with a playful tone. “funny how much of my life works that way. hey, i learn new tricks everyday. just.. not the “important” stuff, i guess.” yes, he added air quotes.
“i don’t know why -- but i have a pretty good feeling that you’ll get there eventually,” she admitted with a gentle smile. “even if it does take a while.”
“Thank you. It seems like it could be a good way to meet some new people, open up a bit.”
“It’s a fun way to meet new people and obviously let loose like you’d like. You’ll enjoy it. Guaranteed.”
glee; starter sentences.
“Sometimes I forget my middle name.”
“We will be the undisputed top bitches in this school.”
“I don’t brush my teeth. I rinse my mouth out with soda after I eat. I was pretty sure Dr Pepper was a dentist.”
“Fashion has no gender.”
“Life’s just a bunch of experiences, you know? You don’t get a medal at the finish line for being good. You just get dead.”
“I have compulsive need to crush other people’s dreams.”
“How can you just stand there and be so calm about this? How can you just give up so easily?”
“Now-a-days being anonymous is worse than being poor.”
“A bad reputation is better than no reputation at all.”
“Sometimes it’s hard to appreciate what a good singer you are because all I think about is shoving a sock in your mouth.”
“What did you do with all that breast milk?”
“My body is like a rum chocolate soufflé. If I don’t warm it up right, it doesn’t rise.”
“You know my coffee order?”
“You know, you can kiss me again, if you want to.”
“Normally you dress like a fantasy of a perverted Japanese business man with a very dark specific fetish but I actually dig this look.”
“I sound like someone put tap shoes on a horse and then shot it.”
“I love you more than I love being a star.”
“I’m pretty sure my cat’s been reading my diary.”
“You got the beauty, but I got the brains and the beauty.”
“I’m not a box. There are more than four sides to me.”
“You kind of sing and dance like a zombie who has to poop.”
“I counted the number of times you smiled at me, I died on the days you didn’t.”
“Being part of something special makes you special, right?”
“I’m so depressed, I wore the same outfit twice this week.”
“We all know that I’m more popular than _____, and I dress better than her.”
“Just because I hate everybody doesn’t mean they have to hate me, too.”
“You can’t change your past, but you can let go and start your future.”
“A party?” Adalyn had never been to a party, unless birthday parties counted of course. “Sure, that sounds fun.”
“Yeah, there’s one that’s not too far from here. It’ll be a new experience for you, but I’m sure you’ll like it,” she smiled. “I’ll stick with you the entire night, I promise.”
Zachary sat up, a small chuckle escaping his throat. he looked up at peyton and shook his head “Oh, I get it. Easily happens. Was it anything interesting you day dreamed about?”
“I have a pretty bad habit of day dreaming,” she admitted with a laugh. “Actually --,” she paused, looking over at him and shaking her head. “It wasn’t anything interesting, no.”
“Who knows in the future. Is it possible on television it might happen in real life. I’m not going to ask why, I love dinosaurs too. I don’t want to go near one, that’d be too risky but just to see one in real life would be incredible”
“Well, anything is possible, so I guess we’ll see what the future shall bring. Perhaps someone will invent the time machine and seeing the dinosaurs will be possible. If that happens though, you’ve got to come with me to see the dinosaurs, okay?”
“you caught me,” he resigned playfully, wearing a wide grin. “it took twenty-two years. i thought it’d only need about double that to heal but, lo and behold – no results.”
“so i was right,” she replied with a laugh. “it is one of those things that’s easier said than it is done.” peyton sighed, shrugging her shoulders. “guess it’s true -- you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”
“What—Do you also want to sit on this bench or is there another reason why you’re staring at me?“
“Uh -- was I staring? Sorry. Must have been day dreaming.”
“I hope someone in the future builds a time machine and let me use it. I’d like to travel back in time— maybe change the past or see how they lived in the past before the internet and television was invented. Also how cool wouldn’t it be to meet dinosaurs. The world needs a time machine”
“I would be so down to see the dinosaurs. If time machines were real, I would 100% go back in time to see the dinosaurs. Don’t ask why, just know that I like dinosaurs.”
