Opening Night || Shadam
Adam fixed his tie in the mirror. The flat was quiet, there was no one else there. Shy had been at the venue for the last hour getting ready for opening night and Adam, well he was getting ready for work at the bar when he watched her leave. He should have taken off or planned around this night sooner. Shy was upset about him not going to opening night and rightfully so. She had been looking forward to her first show so much, working so hard for the last few months so that this night would be a success. He grabbed his wallet off the counter and his jacket off the chair and checked his appearance in the mirror one last time before he headed downstairs. He didn't know why he waited to the last minute to decide to go tonight. He knew he could get a shift covered, especially for this. He walked down to the end of the street and bought a bouquet of roses from a store. He called a cab when he walked out of the store and sat in the back seat, looking out the window as he made his way to the theater. He was so proud of shy, he came with her here because this is where her dream was and she is actually making it. Adam got out of the cab and walked into the theater, handing the ticket that Shy gave him weeks ago to the usher and thanked him as he lead him down to the third row. He set the flowers on his lap and sent a brief message to Shy-telling her he loved her and wishing her the best for tonight before turning his phone off and looking up as the lights dimmed.
