I'm not particularly fond of small talk, I dislike being deceived, I don't like unexpected changes in my routine, and I generally don't enjoy most science fiction stories due to their inaccuracy on detail.

This blog is for playing the character Adam Raki from the movie Adam (2009). The character is mostly based on the film, but I've added some head-canons based on my own experiences as an autistic person.

In terms of the character's current status, he is taken! Flirting is fine, but Adam is unlikely to entertain it outside of anything from his partner. NSFW requests are allowed, but please note that only adults are allowed to send/interact.

Adam has a lot of respect for Will. He appreciates what his brother has done for him, even if they sometimes disagree.

Adam likes Duncan a lot. He has intense feelings for him and has only recently made it official between them. He feels safe around Duncan and feels like he is one of the few people who listens to Adam.

@beast-of-bucharest -> Friend.

Even if a little intimidated by Nigel at first, Adam had grown to find good company with him.

@yourtastefulcannibal -> Friend.

Adam finds Hannibal quite easy to talk to. They often bond over theatre, though Adam isn't usually able to appreciate Hannibal's cooking.

I have been trying to cope better with people lying to me, lately. I've had to learn that some lies are better than others, even if it feels wrong in my mind to allow people to lie to me.

Harlan's advice has yet to cause me problems, though... so I'm listening to him on this one.

No - but I haven't really taken the time to consider it that strongly. I struggle to see myself as a parent, though.

What was your mom like? Were your parents together?

I don't remember much of my mother. She died when I was eight. All I really know is the little I remember and what my father had told me.

What was your dad like?

My father was a nice person - at least, that was my experience of him. He did his best to make sure that I had support in my life, even after my mother died. I'm very thankful for that.

We didn't agree at times, but nobody is perfect. I miss him being around.

Would you rather choose to to never be overstimulated again, or for all raccoons to always be healthy.

This is a difficult question.

If I chose to never be overstimulated again then that would really help me. Of course, it wouldn't change everything but it would make my life easier.

However - if all raccoons were healthy, that means that none of them will have natural diseases or be sick. So, does that mean that no raccoons will have rabies anymore? If so, that would not only impact the raccoons but it would save many human lives.

So... I think I'll keep the raccoons healthy.

Hey Adam, do you ever get so overwhelmed you have to shut down before you can really focus again? Like, stop talking, stop listening, stop feeling (or maybe feeling one consistent thing) kind of stuff? Unsure if this is a me thing or not

I feel like that sometimes, yes.

To me, many of my shut downs are not voluntary. They just... happen, and I feel stuck in it. But what you're referring to, I think, is when you give up on masking in order to kind of 'reset' after being overstimulated.

Sometimes it helps me to go silent, be on my own, and really focus on what's going on in my head instead of externally.

In the end, whatever helps you the most (as long as it isn't harmful) is good.

[ I agree with the sentiment of this, but I think that people deserve to know the full context that this post was made under.

There has been a problem in the HEU roleplay community with minors trying to enter adult spaces - spaces that they should not be in, for their own safety. Due to this, many of us have been requesting ID (fully blanked out with only the birthdate visible) to be able to let people into these spaces. Giving your full name is unnecessary and I would not suggest that anybody does that. I, like any person, encourage people to be cautious what they share online.

Importantly, it is actually very difficult for someone to find information out about someone in the way you're suggesting. Removing digital editing is very complex, if impossible for many. Regardless, there are ways to get around this - such as by blanking out information with paper before the photo is taken. All I'm saying is that there are ways to prove your age safely, and acting like there isn't is incorrect.

Now, nobody is making you give your ID; If you don't want to, you don't have to. However, that also means that people who are unwilling to prove their age should stop trying to gain access to adult spaces. Verifying a person's age is a completely reasonable thing for an adult to do before inviting somebody into an adult space.

I think it's disingenuous of you to post something like this without giving the full information. There's nuance to it - yes, giving ID online can be dangerous, but sometimes it is necessary to protect minors from content that they should not be viewing. ]
