Hi so I just watched this movie and I cried several times and yes while it does utilize the fat dejected loser trope it is also a beautiful film. The feeder unveiling scene reminded me of my experience in Paris w someone I met on here years ago. Not the secret feeder bit but the collection of snuff type photos withheld from the protagonist without their consent.

Definitely made my stomach churn at points, more generally a portrait of the harms of complacency, living in fear, escapism, etc. Being consumed by comfort, as one substack article explained. Things I think about often regarding kink and how it’s my cross to bear- easily interchangeable with other vices as shown in the film/being alive, obviously. As quoted by the magistrate “masturbation is the thief of time” sums up the films messaging fairly well. One of the arterial plot lines explains condemnation of dogmatism, while the other warns against paralysis. I’m interested to understand how this story is “loosely” based on the directors life.

With all that said it’s hard not to take the “feederism” plot line personally, because it is personal. It’s not nice to have mirrors held up to you! Showing my cards it definitely portrayed my greatest fears in engaging with this kink. It was hard to watch, and I was disappointed to see this kink scapegoated, but I understand why the director chose it out of anything else. In the film, the “feederism” is non-consensual, which is not representative of my real-life relationship, and while it’s fun to toy with some cnc elements in fantasy, my partner and I have a strong foundation of trust, mutual respect, boundaries, limits and communication in our feedism that does not at all align with what was portrayed in the film. It made me sad to see the abuser in the film be clothed as a feeder. This should never be the reality for feedists practicing RACK. Any allusion to it is purely fantasy and not indicative a a desire rooted in reality.

questions on the pragmatics of feeding: how do you all do feedings without your feeders food getting cold! getting so lost in the eroticism of hand feeding that leads to other things and lasts an hour(s) means my feeder is either 1) scarfing his food down before we start or 2) eating it cold. i suppose there is an option of investing in an extra appetizer or something for me to graze on while he eats but sometimes i just cant wait that long for him :,(

tbh i dont really think he minds buuuuut he deserves to enjoy a nice meal! not cold! and not in a rush! our meal times usually overlap obviously, and it is silly to conceive of separating them? granted, he might actually like the idea of us having different dinners/contrast in our meals. hmmm

what if the increasing accessibility of glp-1s makes it easier to identify FAs? the pill form of this drug is making leaps and bounds for normalization. glp-1s are also getting cheaper. like, the proliferation of this drug will at the very least have to help you identify ppl who are pursuing aesthetic weight loss (which is almost if not always motivated by fatphobia) since all someone would have to do is pop a pill to get thin(ner) in a pinch. so, people who choose to stay fat or get fatter over time are particularly salient in this sociocultural context; disruptive because they are steadfast in their principles. what are those principles? what kind of person wouldnt have a desire for thinness? especially when virtually any plausible barriers are removed from the attainment of the prescribed ideal. further, and more salaciously, what does this person desire? theres no way they actually like themselves this way?! wont take long for fellow lipophiles to out themselves. hmm
