Oh hey I have one of these Tumblrs and I (don't) know how to use it, watch out~
Here a commision I made for @adamant-guard, a full colored body of a Khajiit, it was a lot of fun to draw.
An awesome commission of my primary character from ESO, done by the incredible @shuravf! They have such a perfect style for fantasy and were a pleasure to work with. Definitely check out their page to see more great art like this.
Shuravf, thanks agan!
Need some art for a character? Well you’ve stumbled upon the right post! Interested? Contact me here on tumblr through asks/messaging/notes or whatever else is available to you, touch base with me through my twitter ( @MoonlostArts) or else contact me directly at my email [email protected]
We can then discuss what you’re looking for. Should things go smoothly, I’ll send you an invoice and work with you through my art progress to make sure you’re getting what you want. If it takes me a while to reply to you, chances are I’m asleep thanks to my medications, please bear with me!
>>Check here to see if I have an open slot<<
Even if you have no interest in commissioning me for one reason or another, reblogging this post helps other people see my work. You don’t have to, but it’d mean a huge amount if you do.
Thank you for your time!
Last year I made a fun little Wintersday comic, so this year I thought I might redo that comic to see how much I have improved in the 12 months since. My apologies for leaving it uncolored and in a rough sketch state, I really haven’t had the time to flesh it out or even practice. =(
What’s so funny? I know you aren’t laughing at my hammer.
Unlike the previous drawings which focused heavily on studying anatomy and underlying muscles, this was a quicker sketch meant to hash out a random pose in a small amount of time without any great focus on detail. Putting what I have learned to a short test. The last one took me several days, but this quick sketch took just under three hours (and that was with me putting in more detail than I intended.... Oops)
A little over a year ago I had to say goodbye to a friend of mine. A coworker, a mentor, an unwavering rock in a stormy sea. Much of who I am today I owe to her.
In a breath-taking spot that @quiet-hydrangea showed me I thought I might make a small memorial to her in my guild’s Gilded Hollow. It’s as beautiful as she was, and shines almost as bright. My sister and I miss you, Amanda, but we will never forget you.
So, Friends
I’m not doing anything this Halloween. The month went by in a blur, schedules were mismatched, I got some tickets to go see Boz Scaggs and don’t know who Boz Scaggs even is (a funk musician, I know, but still) So I’m sitting here thinking about my favorite things, and how I would want nothing more right now than to be sitting around a bonfire telling ghost stories. So, I was thinking, how about we all share some ghost stories? You send me yours, I’ll tell you mine. Scare me. Let’s have some fun. :)
Get that fire cracklin’, I have the PERFECT one for you.
Up until February this year I used to work for Outback Steakhouse. Last October I was closing the Curbside Takeaway on a Friday night, and this means counting a LOT of cash. By the time I would be turning my drawer in most servers had gone home. I was friends with the headwait and was pretty close to the manager, so we were laughing and joking around and whatnot and I was just going to stay so we could all leave together and lock everything up. It was only the three of us left in the building. I knew because I personally let the last server out and locked the door behind them.
So I’m sitting here in the office chatting and laughing while the manager and headwait finish up, all my stuff is done. We’re allowed free refills and I had a huge cup that was almost empty, I figured I would go and fill it up while I was waiting. I walk out of the office and then through the back of the kitchen where the sinks and prep areas are, fill my drink up, and then head back into the office. Friendly chats resume, we’re laughing about some crazy customer from earlier in the night. Then we all become aware of it at once and chatter stops. ....what is that sound?
The office has a monitor for all the building’s cameras. We hear a sound slowly growing louder nearby, some sort of hissing. We look to monitor and there on camera 7, the camera that covers the prep area, is completely fogged over. The prep area is right outside the office. We open the door, cautiously, and step out into the dark to see one of the huge sinks is on full blast. The hot water valve has been physically turned all the way on to its maximum rotation and steam is everywhere. I walked past that sink not 3 minutes before we heard it and I would have noticed it being on. We also would have heard it.
Needless to say we cut it off and very quickly finish our work, it is time to GO. But before we do, we check the camera. They thought I was pranking them. Watching the playback we see me walk past the sink twice as I go and come back. Only after I am back in the room does the valve slowly turn on completely on its own. It never did that before, and never would do it again. Thoroughly spooked we all make sure we leave TOGETHER, and in no small hurry.
It was the following afternoon that we would find out one of our regular customers, an older gentlemen, had died that day.
He drowned.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN, friends!
So this is attempt three with the full body, and the first time I have tried for a pose that I couldn’t reference from screenshots.Let me know what you think!
For this attempt with the full body I went for a slight angle and started with a construction skeleton (based on a screenshot), then spent a lot of time studying male human musculature and anatomy. I did my best to come up with the underlying muscles of charr based on what I learned, then went over the results with some rough, sketchy linework. I’m pretty happy with this! The hands and feet still need work, but I know those are tricky and I will improve them with time.
The next challenge for me will be to use the same skeleton to create a (hopefully dynamic) pose that I could never capture with a screenshot, add these same muscles, and then see what I end up with when it’s time for the linework.
Since this was primarily a muscle study, the next attempts will probably focus more on poses and positioning. They likely won’t have detail quite like this picture until I can improve my ability to make construction skeletons, so expect the quality to take a bit of a dip! I’m quite nervous to start trying my own skeletons where I can’t as heavily rely on screenshots...
Ah yes hello, I’d like to hire gigantic plastic spiders with brooms to come clean my room, please!!
They are on the way! (just remember to give them some candy corn in exchange)
Man.... I LOVE this holiday so much ;~;
So I have been trying to start the process of learning how to draw full body images, and taking my first baby steps towards learning anatomy. After watching videos and reading articles for HOURS in my free time this past week, this is the prototype! There are some parts I hate, but other parts that I am extremely pleased with, so I am happy with it overall.
