Hiya! I’m Kobb. I mostly use Tumblr to indulge in silly fandom nonsense, which at the moment is bouncing a lot between TMNT, Monster Hunter, and the Horizon game series. I also have a tag for Monster Hunter/Horizon crossover stuff (please check out the music series, very few people cared but I’ve had so much fun with it)!
If you want even more, I co-run a webcomic with longtime friend and ArenaNet narrative lead Alex Kain: Beyond the Western Deep! It’s basically us playing in a Redwall/(Disney’s) Robin Hood/Secret of NIMH inspired sandbox, things we loved as young ‘uns.
Want more of the major tags I’ve used over the years? Here’s a list.
Want just my art tag? Here ya go.

I had vague plans to be cheeky and try my hand at a full Dragon Bash rewrite, but there's remarkably little work to be done because the verses focus on the bashers boasting about how their enemy ain't all that and they can take 'em together, not dwelling on the dragon-ness of it all. It would really just be a matter of pronoun massaging (it -> they) and a few key noun (creature, lizard, beast) replacements to pull it just far enough out of its original context. You can even leave stuff like "minions" intact and it scans fine.
This world has lived in shadow from a pair of demon’s wings,
But none here fear the future or the darkness that it brings.
The monster puts on quite a show, expecting us to yield,
But there’s just one course of action when we take up sword and shield…
BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
Drive it right back into its den!
BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
May it never rise up again!
We send our best and bravest to attack with all their might,
The skillful and the willful each line up to join the fight.
The beast may leave corruption in a swath across the land,
But we won’t leave it breathing when our heroes make a stand…
BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
Drive it right back into its den!
BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
May it never rise up again!
Minions come in dozens from the peaks and from the shore,
But we face each wave with brav'ry and we’ll never lose this war.
In every brawl a few may fall but more will join the queue,
and if that lizard shows its head then this is what we’ll do…
BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
Drive it right back into its den!
BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
May it never rise up again!
[additional verse added later, not in this recording]
We wake from every nightmare and adapt to what we’ve learned,
It won’t be long until our place in legend has been earned.
The creature grows in power but it’s not in us to flee,
So when they ask who’ll join the charge on this we all agree…
BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
Drive it right back into its den!
BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
May it never rise up again!
BASH THE DRAGON! SMASH THE DRAGON!
May it never rise up again!
To any young creators or folks starting out on their creative journey, or to anyone struggling; I promise you I PROMISE YOU anything you create is infinitely more better than anything AI says it can do.
Learning is part of the process, being a little frustrated is part of the process, and each thing you make is wonderful because you made it exist! It's in the world because of you! It's uniquely you and no one else can replicate it exactly the way you do it.
I think of how we all exist on this earth for a limited amount of time, but the things we make will be left behind and it will touch the lives of people we'll never meet.
My partner's parents went to Italy one year and talked about how there were preserved sketches and unfinished sculptures done by Michelangelo. And I was losing my mind because yeah there's the amazing Sistine Chapel ceiling and the statue of David but his works in progress also exist! To see his process! To imagine that he also felt frustration? joy! to know he made so many WIPS before he eventually made the works hes widely known for.
I keep thinking did he have days when he thought those were crap? Which ones made him realize what he wanted to do in the final pieces. And to me the disconnect between myself and some super famous long gone artist I've never met drops for a bit and I yell THATS A PERSON WHO LIVED! THEY DID CREATIVE THINGS WE STILL DO TODAY
I think about the Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave. did they feel happy creating these paintings? did their children watch? copy them? There's so many animals drawn over and over again, were they also doing their own art process that way? Was that a form of practice? Farting around and having fun? 👀
To know the need to express oneself through creative works has lasted for years and years and years is AHHHHHHHH 😭💕💕💕 It has endured! People's creativity has endured. And these days can feel so hopeless but the love to create can still persist despite it all.
Fascists will try and convince us none of it matters or that specific types of art are superior over others. "Let AI do it for you" but it can't do things like you can. It's just a stupid machine made by rich morons who have no souls. Its nature is to steal because their nature is to steal.
There's no time to hesitate, the final day of preorders is here! You may not have another chance to get the best Raph merch and book out there, so go to our store and order NOW!!

I really really love in game music events but the guild wars 2 metal legion concert just blows the competition out of the water for me. the fact that it's integrated into the storyline for the area with the songs being in universe propaganda is fascinating and the event itself is like hands down the best and most fun way to do an event like that I've ever experienced. you spend the whole time trying to keep the show going which means constant chaotic mini events where you do things like jump in a moshpit or stand in for backup dancers or fix the exploding equipment while all the while beating back fans swarming the performers whose parts of the song will disappear if they get knocked out. it ends with you having to destroy a giant burning metal effigy of a dragon that will sometimes just pick you up into the air and chuck you into the crowd who are all giant cat people. everyone on earth download the video game guild wars 2.
Rules: Without naming them, post a gif from ten of your favourite films, then tag ten people to do the same!
I'll toss out a tag to @thewolfprospers and @gargoylesister if they want, but otherwise most people I would throw this at have been tagged. And as always, take it and run if you want!!
🐢🖤 a preview of my short story for the red & rude zine!!
huge thank you to @kobbers for creating the spot art! ;o; it's wonderful, and i can't wait for y'all to see how it frames the page, too.
i'm so grateful and excited to have been a part of this zine, and to work with this team again--as well as meet all the other creators. all of you knocked it out of the park; thank you so much for having me!
PREORDERS ARE OPEN until May 24th!
all profits will go to The Sea Turtle Conservancy!
Also if you’re using generative AI, a technological tool that actively causes harm to the environment, and STILL claiming to be a Horizon fan, I don’t know what to tell you; you’re a dumb motherfucker.
Got some stuff for carving stamps, because I've had a really strong urge lately to learn *some* new and physical craft. (another option I looked into was screenprinting but that's far more of an investment!)
To get used to the material and carving tools I went with a very simple design to start - a canid seal :]
