Why are Dan's eyes triangles? Is that an artistic choice or will tht be lore relevant at some point?
To add on, why are some characters eyes circles and some squares?
Honestly just artstyle choice. I used to really like Invader Zim and it's artstyle, and all the characters in that show have square eyes. Eventually it became a unique thing for each one of my characters to have a different eye shape, a lot of times I would rely on personality, but not always, sometimes it's just how I feel about the character. Dan is the only character I've ever had who has triangle eyes, at some point I was redesigning him and thought it would fit since Otherside has lots of triangle imagery. It fits for his personality too, he is a little obsessive, but I also thought it would stand out more and be a unique feature. He previously had square eyes.
