One of the first things Danny did after dying and getting ghost powers (aside from freak out of course) was look up the whereabouts of his killer. Not Sam, that was an accident, no he looked up the location of Damian Al Ghul, his biological twin and murderer. His twin had tried to kill him in cold blood when they were six, on a mission together in the US. Danny had managed to escape with his life, and ended up adopted by the Fentons. Finally he had a chance for revenge.
Turns out his twin has been living it up in their billionaire fathers house.
Time to put these new ghost powers to use!
In between school and ghost fights in Amity, Danny makes time to fly to Gotham and haunt the fuck out of Damian. He goes all in with every horror movie trope he can find. He even figures out how to make his ghost form look like his six year old self to really sell the whole thing. After making the entire Wayne Brood nearly piss themselves he declares that the only thing that will end the haunting is the death of the one who killed him.
Then the college reunion happens and Danny stops Vlad from murdering his adopted dad. Vlad is such a fruitloop and Danny really doesnt like him. On his way back from Wisconsin he has the unfortunate realization that he was on his way to becoming just. Like. Vlad.
This isnt even about Damian any more, sure Danny still hates his twin for what he did but- damn he really does not want to be just like Vlad when he grows up. Time for a new plan:
Pretend he never went to Gotham in the first place, and never go back.
He can start using his precious free time on more important things, like video games and space exploration.
Meanwhile, the Batfam is undergoing defcon fuck levels of paranoia, infighting, emotional constipation, and guilt. Damina has decided he has to let Danyal kill him, its only right after what he did. Bruce is trying to find any solution to this that doesnt result in Damian or the ghost of his other, unknown, son suffering a moment longer.
Absolutely no one, except for Danny, is having a good time.

Before the fall
His eyes used to be soft. “Ocean blue,” Jazz once said—like he had the whole world in front of him. Danny smiled more back then. He didn’t know what it meant to be—to be afraid of your own reflection. He didn’t know what it meant to be… to be haunted by yourself.
The moment it all changed
Then he died. Sort of. The portal lit up and swallowed him in stars. Pain, light, nothing. When he opened his eyes again, they weren’t his anymore. Something burned into the surface—a crackling, glowing scar. A warning etched into the iris. He stepped out different. He even thinks… part of him stayed inside.
After the nightmare
They broke him. Piece by fragile piece. Cut, shocked, bled, questioned. Loved, maybe. Hated, definitely. His eyes stopped crying long before his voice did. He forgot what warmth looked like. Sometimes he stared into a mirror just to see if he was still there. Sometimes… he wasn’t.
The return
He’s back. Not hole. Not healed. But he has power again. And rage. And scars no one can see. His eyes don’t plead anymore. They don’t hope. They hunt. “You took everything from me. So I’ll take something back.” And you’ll know it when he looks at you.
⟢ The second pair of eyes, someone had shared it—and I thought it was so freaking cool! Tragic, but awesome! Being zapped by 14.000 volts of electricity. The effect was two star-shaped electrical burns into his eyes. That’s just… so Danny coded!
⟢ For those still questioning the scarring on the left side of his face and the damage to his left eye—it’s a Lichtenberg scar, the result of sustained high-voltage electrocution during forced compliance in experimental procedures. Specifically, it formed when he refused to obey during one of their more aggressive sessions. The current surged through him, burning its dendritic mark into his skin. But the damage ran deeper. The shock ruptured the inner structures of his eye—tearing apart the iris and pupil from within, possibly detaching the retina. The result—permanent trauma-induced blindness in that eye. Almost blind. It’s even more tragic than it sounds.

Thinking of the thought that Danny is in two friendship groups (Secret Trio/Quartet/Group and the Nicktoons) that has someone (Randy and Timmy) that'll eventually have their memories wiped and has to deal with that twice...
so I’m writing a fic (not posted yet) but this is part of a side story that fits within the main one. So the gist of it is Chloé moves to Metropolis after living in New York with her mother throughout lycée (French high school), after the akuma attacks became more violent, as a way to show how independent she can be.
She applies to Metropolis University and gets into the political science course and begins her search for a job, not wanting to use her parent’s money anymore. Chloé allows her father to pay the rent for the first month she’s in her apartment but makes it clear that that’s all she’s willing to allow. She moves in the summer and finds a job asap, there’s an opening as a city clerk at city hall and she takes it.
Jon is also attending Metropolis University, he’s in the journalism course, deciding to follow in his parent’s footsteps. He already has a job at the Daily Planet, writing smaller articles about whatever he’s assigned that week.
Jon and Chloé officially meet after she’s working on something for work at a cafe and ends up spilling her drink on her laptop effectively destroying all the progress she had made that afternoon, and Jon being the true hero he is, immediately comes in to try and help. Grabbing some napkins he helps her clean up and introduces himself. Afterwards the two of them get talking and quickly find they like a lot of the same things, both their best friends live in Gotham, and apparently bees like Chloé a lot.
They get each other’s numbers and part ways, Jon heading to work to look at a few things for his next article and Chloé heading home to tend to her beehive and nap.
