Cory laughed. "Are you saying the one that doesn't have children is the one is the one that has it?" Cory took another pastry. "Nasir has been a blessing to all of us, of that I'm sure."
"At this moment it is since I have two when I didn't." Peter told him. "But now I do want them and I want them with Nasir." The werewolf said. "And yes Nasir...Nasir is one of the best things that has happened to me."
Nasir covered his mouth as if to hide his laughter. Of course, that would annoy him. "Of course, Peter was adorable for that. "They do like you. It is just complicated." He then leaned in and kissed his cheek. "But don't forget, I'm your family too, and I love you. Love you so much that when I wake up, I damn...I got lucky." Nasir was proud of that one. He really was.
"Complicated is an understatement." And he believed he had gotten over it. However, sometimes he still felt like the anger and the sadness in random days. Nasir made up for it. He did a lot of it, especially when he expressed himself like this. "And you say that I have a way with words." Peter chuckled.
Cory laughed. "Thank you, but I never said I would want children." He did want them. He needed to do his part in regrowing the Hale family in this branch.
"You will want them." Peter said and grabbed another pastry. "You and Derek always liked children. I, on the other hand, just have two because I was careless and I was not trusted with their futures. I can prove my sister wrong now, especially with Nasir by my side."
Nasir smiled as pictures of Peter being a girl dad popped up. They came from references of how his own dad was with his sister. That quickly made him sad, though. "Hm? Isn't Jackson and Milo a younger version of you, though?"
Peter rolled his eyes at that. He didn't want to believe he was that much of asshole like Jackson and then so dismissing as Milo. They had a lot of him, but he didn't want to be the source of their worse traits. "Sounds like you are pointing out why my own family and the others don't like me." Peter said, annoyed for the firs time in this ride. "I could see though..."
"Not what expected, especially from Jackson." Nasir is pretty cool and he was surprised Jackson cared that much. "I need to talk to them more. I don't know them well."
"I did once you know the context." Peter shrugged and took another bite. "You should. You need to be an uncle too. Get your training to deal with older children." Peter chuckled.
Cory loved when Peter made that face...he had not seen it in a really long time. "Right. Totally forgot about that...how is that going with you and them? And of course, with them and Nasir?"
"It s a work in process. They both have warmed to me in a way. They don't talk to me unless they need something or I go to them." Peter said, "Jackson is more hostile towards Nasir. They were friends back in high school. Milo, surprisingly enough, gets along with Nasir, even likes him more than me."
"You really think that? These kinds of feelings can endure all kinds of positive energy." He chuckled at the last part. He didn't know where he got that last part. However, he was right. He didn't exactly every give Derek a chance. He just didn't want to say things he could not take back. That could make matters worst, even lose him, which he wanted to avoid. "Does he want children?"
"I do. Give it a try. I don' think you have anything to lose." He took another bite, the second being more than delicious than first. Peter nodded and spoke once his mouth was clear. "He does. He wants to be a dad. It has been awkward for him to be the step-dad to Jackson and Milo."
Nasir rolled his eyes. He was totally not agreeing with Peter; at least in his mind, he wasn't. His question did bring him back to what mattered, however. "Hm...probably one of each, if possible. What about you?" He asked.
Peter smiled at him. "I have two boys already so I would want a girl. Hales have mostly been boys. Talia and Laura were a rarity for this branch of the family." Peter said. "But I won't deny of wanting another mini version of me or one of you."
"Because you are easy to talk to...because I know I can have this conversation with you and not feel like you will run away or shut down on me." He expected Derek to do so. In fact, they have barely touch the subject. ."You want more children?" The surprise was evident in his voice.
Peter opened his mouth, but realized the can of worms he could open if he spoke freely. Instead, he exercised restrain. "I think you should give Derek a chance. He is not the teen he was years ago. He is not the man he was even years ago when he returned to down. I think you would be surprised." Peter smiled and finally pull out a pastry. "I do. I want to have children with Nasir."
Nasir rolled his eyes. Not even the peck would heal that momentary annoyance. "I highly doubt that. Maybe in the beginning. People always say women glow in the first few months of pregnancy, but hey, if my age gives me an advantage, I'll take it. It is crazy to think that something like that could work. You really think it could?" Nasir asked him.
"Sounds like you are agreeing with my statement." Peter said with a laugh. Good thing they were getting closer and closer to their destination. "I hope it does. Would you want boys? Girls?" Peter asked him. He had two boys, so a girl would probably fill the gap he had been missing. "In our family there were more boys than girls at the end, but we started with a lot of girls."
That answer surprised him. He never thought Peter would give so much of himself for the sake of having children. Somehow, that made him love him even more. "Yes, I would," Nasir said with conviction. "It would be an honor for me to be able to do that for both of us. I want that fr the both of us."
Now i was Peter's turn to be surprised. He didn't expect Nasir to be so confident in his own conviction. "At least you didn't say because you are younger than I am." The werewolf chuckled and pecked his lips. "I hope this research is correct. Seeing you pregnant may be your most beautiful form."
Cory sighed. "No, he does not and I don't plan to tell him." Cory said to him. "What will I gain from it? Just like what will gain for hating you for what you did? We lost everybody else. We don't need to lose anymore Hales."
"Why not? You told me." Peter said, not finding any logic in his statement in that regard. However, he did understand the other part. It was quite a mature and wise way to see their sins. "We don't. I wish your brother could see it that way too. We have two more with my children and between there three of us there may be more."
Nasir turned things around. "Would you carry them?" If he wanted to carry it, he would understand it, and he would probably let him. However, considering their dynamic in and out of bed, he thought it would make sense if he was the one to carry them.
Peter actually gave it some thought. "If it increases the chances of success then yes." Peter said with conviction. And if Nasir couldn't trust his voice, he turned his gaze towards him so he could see his eyes. Yeah he would do that. He would do that sacrifice so they could have children. "Would you still carry them even if I wanted to carry them for you?"
"I'm doing better now that you are questioning my intentions." Cory said in between bites. "You do know I could have simply not come right? We are family, we should be acting like it instead of pretend like it. Yes, what you did was fucked up and I'll never forgive you for it. I don't know if I have forgiven Derek for his role on the fire, but I still love him" Even if it was messed up.
He had a fair point and he hated that he had a fair point. "I didn't know that you felt that way about Derek. Does he know that you feel that way?" Peter asked him. It was true that Derek's role cause a chain reaction, but he didn't blame Derek for that one. He couldn't say why, but he never held it against him."
Nasir's eyes went wide, and he gasped. "You are such an ass; you know very well that I show you that I love you all the time. "Just not the way people usually think. "And if I'm going to carry your children, you better take that as a sign of love too because women go through a lot to do that for the world."
Peter laughed hard. He loved this reaction even if it was the reaction that he expected. What he didn't expect was the other statement he made. "So if what I'm researching works you want to be the one to carry them? Are you sure? It may be quite the risky thing to go through." Peter said.
"Sure, why not." He said before taking a bite. He only spoke once his mouth was clear. "What? I can't visit my uncle because I want to see him?"
"And when was the last time you did that?" Peter asked as he came back with his own glass. He then sat down opposite to him and pulled out a pastry. "How are you?"
Cory chuckled. "How abut someone from the family?" He corrected himself and took a napkin so he could take out one of the pastries out. "Fruit juice for me. What else do you have that would go with this?" He asked.
Peter just smile and started to rinse a glass so he could fill it with juice. "I heat up some croquettes that Nasir made the other day." He suggested before passing him the glass. "So why did you want to see me so bad?"
