Second edit - added the shot of cassie’s tattoo on her forearm. Also changed the sky in the girl street art shot and made small changes suggested from dailies.

All that’s left to do is change the fonts, add in extra audio in the end cut away shot and to add the penguin in the patronus at the end.

Also grading to be done by Cassie.

Bringing peoples tattoos to life

I need to do a few shots of peoples tattoos coming to life so I want to film their tattoos up close like the following shots and then have them moving in some way or another.

After getting advice from Jack I’ve keyed out the sky so that I could make it look like a nicer day as it looked a bit dreary.

I’m rubbish at trying to make an edit for a promo so Cassie suggested that I look up netflix documentary promos and sure enough there were some good examples.

Early start to the day and whilst waiting for feedback I’ve put in the title revealed by the patronus.

I’ve been working on the patronus path for about 5 hours trying to get it to move in a way that it will reveal the title of the documentary and this is what I’ve got.

Closer look at the finished result of my dragon arm. (Until I get feedback tomorrow)

Not even finished yet and I’m already happy with how this shot is looking. The fire looks nice but I still need to add more texture detail to the dragon and I have to add the penguin to the patronus so that he is swimming along with it.

Matched it up with my arm

I’ve been playing around with the curve editor to try and get the best spiral for the fire to go down my arm

Added the dragon and tracked it on using the tattoo on my arm as a reference. It doesn’t look as wow as the patronus side so am thinking of adding a fire emanating from the tattoo to give it some colour. I am also going to further texture the dragon in cinema 4D to make it look better.

Just a quick throw on to see how it looks before I leave uni (Been in since 1pm and its 9:40pm now) long and productive day though.
