ykno the thing im the most salty about is that creators made such a big deal out of double trouble! like– HEY LOOK AT OUR NONBINARY CHARACTER!! ARENT THEY COOL! and we were like HELL YEAH THEY ARE! and then they made them excelent character!! for one season. later they used dt mainly for scorpias character development (which wouldnt be the first time writers used dt for others character development *cough*catras*cough*) and used them for some exposition, in a joke episode nonetheless, and that was it! all this hype from season 4 feels so hollow now, it almost feels… familiar…..

my personal HC for s5: DT is fucking terrified. this is the crimson waste 2.0, you really can’t trust anyone. and DT? they’re alone. no one has their back, and if Scorpia was chipped in that scene breaking character was the least of their worries. DT is exhausted, emotionally and probably physically and they don’t wanna be chipped. being chipped would make them into the opposite of who they are. getting captured was part of their improvised plan, because right now that’s all they’re able to do.

See THIS is the kind of take I want to see. I love it.

People PLEASE send me your Double Trouble headcanons for S5. Find a way to make their brief appearance meaningful. Make it as self-indulgent as possible. Make you, me, and all the DT stans feel better.

I know DT barely got any screen time this season, but they still gathered important information and willingly gave it up (I really do believe they wouldn’t fought harder if they weren’t willing). if they didn’t tell them about that blockade, the best friends squad might not have made it.

This is true. I think I'm gonna go with my self-indulgent headcanon that they were always going to give up the info because they didn't want Prime to rule/destroy Etheria any more than anybody else did lol.

...That said, they definitely would have accepted the money if their request worked. Just because they were planning to give it up doesn't mean they couldn't get something out of it 😉
