âSomeoneâs late for class.â Hebrew said loudly through the hall, half-jogging to catch up with Adella. She seemed like she was in a tizzy, moving faster than normal to gather her books from her locker.
Hebrew, on the other hand, was taking his time getting to his next period. He was sure there wasnât much he could miss in class in the span of a mere ten minutes - despite how many times they proved him wrong over the years.
âWhere ya headed with your ass all on fire like that? Talk to me. I havenât seen you since the carnival.â
âWell, one of us actually gives a shit,â Adella called back, not surprised when he fell into step with her, his long legs allowing him to keep up as she tore through the hallway. Her alarm hadnât gone off when it shouldâve, leaving her very little time to make it to class, and she just felt frazzled and utterly overwhelmed- a familiar feeling for Adella, only magnified by her alarm fiasco. âIâm headed to class, that place you never grace with your presence. And itâs not my fault you havenât seen me, you havenât tried very hard,â She retorted, the strap on her bag breaking in that moment, sending books and papers to the ground in a chaotic motion. âFuck me,â The brunette groaned, falling to her knees and trying to gather all her shit. âAre you going to stand there like a dick or are you going to help? Please, Hebrew, Her voice softened slightly towards the end, her shoulders slumped as she tried to sort through which papers had been in which folder.
