down by the water is an upcoming real life jcink site set in the fictional town of port siren, maine, a tourist city recently fallen on hard times. with sea winds growing colder and the warning of storms to the north, port siren might just be a little less daydream– and a little more nightmare.
follow us today! we currently have first reserves open (one face per member)– and reblog this ad to win a second one!
She walks in Beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which Heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!
i really love the canon families. they’re so diverse and interesting! i’m actually writing down some plot ideas for future reference, which i can’t wait to share with you. c:
Born and raised on french soil, Haven grew up on a horse ranch in Toulouse. By the time she was considered of age her french born, turned U.S. citizen parents, Nicholas and Adrienne St. Claire, shipped her off to an American boarding school in Paris.
Upon early graduation at sixteen, Haven spent a year abroad with the Global Leadership Adventures before moving to the U.S. to be with her ill mother.
For the next year and a half Haven's days were consumed by caring for her mother, seeing as she could no longer care for herself. She would bathe her, dress her, feed her, and so on. Eventually, her mother passed from Parkinson’s and early onset Alzheimer’s, while her father had disappeared shortly after and was never heard from again. Haven inherited her family’s wealth after both parents were declared dead. To this day she holds tremendous guilt and grief.
As for Haven’s college years she attended Berkeley and earned her her bachelor’s degree in business, performing arts, and music composition. At age 22, she officially took a dive into stardom as an international dancer and an independent composer, however; two years in and one unfortunate accident, Haven’s ballet career was over.
Haven then tried her hand at Broadway, but after losing passion for her love of theatrics she decided to take an early retirement in the business of performing arts.
After wasting away most of her twenties in constant travel and spiritless productions, Haven wanted to build roots for herself. She finally chose to settle into her family home in Port Siren, Maine.
With a business degree already under her belt she opened up St. Claire’s: a bookstore and coffee shop, while giving private lessons to those on the second floor in dance and music composition. A place to keep her content and combine the things she loves.
Haven’s life now consists of reading and composing. Some will often pass her house and say that they can hear the deep emotion within in her music while she plays on and on. Some refer to her home as the Dreary Ravenside Manor.
She has continued to invest her money into rebuilding her town although someone on the town committee keeps shutting down her business proposals. Haven also donates to charities and volunteer’s at homeless, children, and animal shelter’s.
