Ok so look, I'm never going to write this. Just getting that part out of the way up front.

BUT. Picture Sherlock assisting Lestrade in tracking down a mad bomber who always seems to be one step ahead of them. The bomber calls Sherlock to taunt him and lets him know he's placed a bomb on a double-decker bus somewhere in the heart of London. Once the bus goes over a certain speed, the bomb arms itself. If it drops below that speed, it will explode.

Meanwhile, John Watson, invalided soldier currently working as a GP and bored out of his mind, finds himself late for work yet again. He rushes to catch the bus and makes it in the nick of time. Must be his lucky day. Except... who's the madman in the long coat chasing after the bus, and why does he seem so intent on getting on board?

Oh, quite a long time ago, I had a similar idea and made a post about it, with a gifset (comparing the TGG pool scene with a scene from towards the end of Speed). The gifset (and post) is here.

I never wrote the fic, and I haven't written any fic for quite some time now. (I still have some old wip in my folders, but currently, for the time being, I am no longer writing.)

So, there is not a great chance of me ever writing a Speed fic, but perhaps you @discordantwords or someone else will after all.
