Good Omens Season 3
Well, we've reached the end of another beloved series. And... I did like it.
It was definitely a scramble to get the whole of the story to fit in the combined 90 minute run-time, and it showed more than I would've hoped. If things had been different, meaning if our once beloved creator hadn't turned out to be a heinous abuser of women, then I think we would've gotten exactly what we wanted. Because the story itself was good, is good. But the confined runtime did leave some elements not fleshed out enough.
I felt as though the Jesus story was supposed to tie in more but they just couldn't get to the blending, so while they did a great job with his characterization (so sweet and lovely), his relationships with those around him, and helped to point towards the potential goodness in humanity, it just didn't mesh with Aziraphale and Crowley's story line, aka the main plot. I think they should have moved rescuing the Bentley to later in the story, just after Crowley mentions that there is an alternate way to get to the eternal flame. It would have made them getting the car more triumphant and higher stakes because, really, the car was in no danger and they had no idea where Jesus was. The time in heaven seemed to greatly outweigh the time spent on Earth, and especially hell. Even if the former two weren't that uneven, it felt that way. And while the show did continuously seem to favor the heaven setting in general, those white walls get old pretty quickly. And I wish we saw Nina and Maggie and then Anathema and Newt in the coffee shop, and then maybe have Crowley and Aziraphale at least mention the Them at their cottage. I know the kids are in Tadfield and they're in South Downs, but still.
There were some good little Easter eggs. The aforementioned cottage comes from a blog post Gaiman made in 2005 when someone asked what he thought Crowley and Aziraphale got up to after the apocalypse and he said he and Terry Pratchett had talked about it before and they think they end up living together in a cottage in South Downs. This is that blog post, it doesn't mention the cottage but I swear I saw it somewhere. Then, of course, the portrait the camera zoomed into at the coffee shop before transitioning to the cottage was of the late great Pratchett himself. The book Aziraphale gave Crowley to become the "new book of life" was Bleak House by Charles Dickens, which tells the story of a generational legal battle that criticizes the English legal system as a whole as a sort of Ouroboros. Fitting, given the heaven and hell of it all. The first pair of glasses Alastor Crowley wears are very tenth doctor of him. There was a final mention of Nightingales of course. And a last cup of hot cocoa. I liked that we got to see Crowley creating cosmos at the start of season two and then its his vision that rewrote the universe. Though Crowley still didn't get an answer to his question. Not really, anyway. The bookshop turns into a sort of garden of Eden ala the twos first meeting in the book and first season.
And the actual ending... I found it satisfying. A bit smashed together, but satisfying nonetheless. At the end of the day, I always prefer stories that keep their magical element. Do I find it disappointing that centuries of love, loss, and reunion are now lost between angel and demon? Yes. Do I understand the literary and character driven reasons why it ended the way it did? Yes as well. At the end of the day, this is a happy ending for Aziraphale and Crowley. As individuals, and as a couple. Because, yes. The one thing we wanted above all else did happen. Crowley and Aziraphale will live out the rest of their lives together. In love and free to show it. That was always ineffable.
Just submitted an online exam I thought was due at midnight, like all my other finals, only to find out it was due at five.
It was worth 1/3 of my grade. I had a 94%.
Fuck. Everything.
How is it that fandom obsessions can never really go away, yet also come back and hit you like a battering ram?

This had been attached to another post I made, but with the release of the new HP series trailer, I felt it was important to post again, this time with it being the actual point of the post itself:
I think I best clarify: I do not publicly, privately, or financially support JK Rowling. What she does is actively work to take away trans peoples basic rights. To take away peoples basic rights is to dehumanize them, and to dehumanize someone in any way, shape, or form is vile and inhuman in itself. I was a person who grew up on HP, who can track it back to my continued existence. To put it simply: Harry Potter saved my life. Because of this, if I need HP, I will read the books or watch the DVDs I have long since owned. That is all. In doing ship lists yearly, or however often I will do them, will be the only time HP content is included in this space, unless one of the original HP actors pass away, in which case I may do a memorial post that honors them, not HP. If you go back in my Tumblr you can see older HP posts, including one I made in 2022 in which I condemn JK for her actions but say that I will separate art from the artist, and I regret that. This was when I thought she was “just” running her mouth, which was bad enough in itself, not actively giving money to organizations to try and hurt the trans community. When I found out the latter was happening I had a revelation that should have come sooner; that while she is alive and doing these things, supporting HP supports her and thus her hatred, and I can’t do that as someone whose best friend is a trans man, and just as a decent human being. I don’t think I’ll be taking down that old post. I think its important for me to see the stance I once took in ignorance to compare it to the one I have now that I’m more informed, for when situations like this inevitably arrive with other creators I’m fond of (damn you Neil Gaiman). To those still engaged within the HP fandom, I implore upon you this: pursue new media. Become active parts in other fandoms, ones with the same messages of unconditional love, found family, and belonging, perhaps this time with a creator who actually embodies those ideas they espouse. And if you are at your lowest and need your comfort (HP), then get your comfort through rereading the books, not engaging with new media, buying merchandise, following the franchises social media, etc. Because all of that gets her money, and that money goes to hurt people. In my darkest moments I still go back and reread a chapter of HP, but I have had to do it less and less since I fell in love with Star Trek, Doctor Who, Supernatural and more. Art is not finite, there are many wonderful things out there to discover, and while I am just as heartbroken that I cannot enjoy my first fandom with the unencumbered love and glee I once got to before the creator showed her true colors, people matter more.
I wonder if the people running Star Trek will ever realize the franchise is going to die if it doesn’t start listening to the people Star Trek was ACTUALLY made for. Which is, by the way, NOT the people who believe in a strictly binary society in ANY regard. (Gender-wise, sexual attraction-wise, or morally.)
You know what another way to phrase woke is? Believing in “infinite diversity in infinite combinations.”
You know, that little phrase that was first said by Spock in The Original Series season three episode “Is There No Truth in Beauty?” released in 1968?!?
I really don’t know what shows or movies these people think they’ve been watching, but if you are looking for an all white, straight male cast of “manly” men to watch, take your fucking pick. But this ain’t the franchise for you and hasn’t been from day goddamn one.
Also, Trek doesn’t have a great track record with first seasons! Most shows don’t really, but it’s literally a well known topic of discussion amongst Trekkies!
My current theory is Jared and Misha are playing a queer couple specifically to subvert the destiel shippers predictions.
Look at how horrified Jared’s character looks! Soldier Boy is choking his husband!
The thing about conformity gate is that it’s not actually an isolated incident. There are quite a few shows in which fans received a shows final episode and assumed it was a subversion tactic crafted by the shows “genius” writers and show runners, and the “true” final episode would drop at a certain point according to “clues” from interviews, the network, and the show itself.
Sherlock is the most obvious one. While there were less people believing in it than Stranger Things, that’s simply because Stranger Things is more popular then Sherlock was, and the Sherlock fans who believed in it were MUCH more fervent and eventually devastated. It occurred both after series three and four, but four was so much worse. It was all based on “The Johnlock Conspiracy” in which the ship between Sherlock Holmes and John Watson would become canon, and they thought it would air on the premiere date of a new BBC show, Apple Tree Yard, which they thought was just a decoy name.
It happened again to a much lesser degree with Supernatural, I think because the ending had to be changed due to Covid restrictions, so their grand finale reunion moment in heaven where all our favorite characters would come back had to be scrapped. I don’t particularly remember if it was believed that they would just refilm the finale, or parts of it, once Covid restrictions lifted, or if there was an actual community that believed the finale was faked by Chuck (much like with what people now think Vecna did in ST), likely mainly due to the absence of Cas save for a passing mention, but there definitely was a community who thought a different finale was coming.
Updated Ship List (2025)
In 2023 I made a "Ship List" which categorized my various ships from a lot of different content. With it being almost three years later and me gaining new fandoms, and thus ships, I thought I'd update my list, with the caveat that some of them remain the same. My original Ship List: Ship List My Anti-Ship List: Anti-Ship List
Your First Ship: Romione

The Ship You Always Come Back To: Destiel
Yeah... yeah HotTopic... just friends. Bestest bros. Can't even tell they're both in the same hot tub, cause that's how far away they're sitting from each other.
You know what I love about tumblr? At some point one random persons hyperfixation will rear its head and take this website by a storm, indoctrinating a group into that hyperfixation, whose prominence then gets replaced with another persons completely random hyperfixation, and the cycle never ends.
So who wants to talk about DB Cooper?
Someone needs to make an edit of Kirk to Queen’s Bicycle Race where every time the word bicycle is said, we just see it appear on the screen as “BI-cycle” accompanied by the completely heterosexual, definitely not queer moments he has with men in TOS.
Randomly thought about OUAT today and how Rumplestiltskin/Robert Carlyle CARRIED the fuck out of that show (could watch that man do his weird little imp laugh all day), and realized he reminded me a lot of another strange lizard man.
The mischief, the darkness, the flawless ability and enjoyment they get out of lying. Obviously Rumple came from a fairytale show and was very much a VILLAIN villain while Garak was pointedly very complicated and “subtle” (and not so subtly very gay). But still, two great strange lizard men portrayed by phenomenal actors.
They’re engaged!!!
"The Life of a Showgirl"
Alright! Cat's out of the bag! On August 12, 12:12 AM EST, Taylor Swift announced via a clip from the New Heights podcast (an upcoming episode to be released later today) that she is coming out with her twelfth studio album, the orange coded "The Life of A Showgirl".
At 9:12 EST on August 11th, she gave us a three hour notice through a countdown on her website that an announcement of some kind was coming. With the orange sparkly background the timer was set on not being a motif in any of her previous eras, people became excited with the prospect of her releasing her twelfth album, with her eleventh, The Tortured Poets Department, having been released April 19, 2024, almost a year ago. That hope has come to fruition as while the album didn't drop, the news of it's existence did. The Countdowns conclusion led to an updated shop website which featured three items for "Pre Pre-Order": A "Portofino Orange Glitter Vinyl", a cassette tape, and a CD which included a "double sided folded poster...Each side features a photo of Taylor". All product descriptions say the items will ship before 10/13/2025, but that "**This is not the release date, official release date to be announced**". All of their covers are blurred with green as the cover, like the release date, is yet to be revealed. The video of the reveal showed Taylor sitting next to her partner Travis Kelce on his New Heights podcast. Pulling out a mint green record case (similar to the Midnights and Acoustic Piano ones she has previously sold) with an orange "T.S." on it's front, she proceeded to show us a blurred-out album, and told us "This is my brand new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl'". This is really exciting news for Swifties who will no doubt start speculating (as if they haven't already) on the themes, genres, and collaborations to possibly be included on the album. All we know now is the title, and that the color assigned to the album is orange, with some mint green also shown through the case, and on the newly designed website. This is only the second album to stray from Swift's older method of titling albums, which featured one-to-two word names. Like The Tortured Poets Department, this one is wordier and reminiscent of her TTPD song, I Can Do It With a Broken Heart, which is a deceptively troubling song set to an upbeat tempo, and deals with having to constantly pretend you're living your best life when you're actually struggling with personal and relationship pitfalls. (It is also the song featured on the Eras Tour where Travis Kelce made his onstage appearance on June 23rd, 2024.) Is this album thus going to be similar tonally and lyrically to it's predecessor? Or has she just changed how she now and in the future will name her albums? Just as a quick final note on Kelce. This is the first time Taylor has ever included her partner, at least so directly and in-line with the camera, in the news of an albums release, or really any major career reveals/news, as the New Heights podcast is one that Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce who was also featured in the video, co-host. This is also a new development and disruption from a pattern, and Swifties are no doubt glad that Taylor and her partner seem very happy together.
The main point though is this: we have a new Taylor Swift album to be released on or most likely prior to October 13th of this year. We're excited for Taylor, and us fans are excited for ourselves too, because we get to hear more of this woman's phenomenal music.
Image one shows Taylor Swift's online store with the three-hour countdown timer. Image two is the online store at the end of the timer when the three items became available for purchase. Item three is Taylor Swift's Instagram account which features a new profile picture of the new albums blurred out cover with an orange lock. This is also carried over to the Taylor Nation Instagram. Image four and five feature similar profile/cover images on Youtube and Facebook respectively.
