RIP Martin Parr. The British photographer became famous thanks to his photos on favorite themes, such as mass tourism or consumerism.
This serie of photos entitled "One Day Trip" was taken between 1988 et 1989 when the Channel Tunnel had not yet been built and the European Common Market did not yet exist. British "tourists" took the ferries from Folkestone to Boulogne-sur-Mer and Calais for a day trip to buy cheap cigarettes and alcohol.
