ā if you say so. āĀ Ā he has to feign his following contemplation, the curl of his lips settling into a thin line as she speaks; rather than a hand to cover his whole mouth nothing more than a finger lifts to his chin, and he doesnāt allow himself to express any obvious liarās implications. he is still. he is quiet. he knows the truth, that being the corpse is in fact somewhat stale, borrowed for its clean-cut resembling shogoās modus operandi, though the character himself was nowhere to be found and he had little use for dragging about bodies, lazy with any entailing clean-up ā or so āshozoā had heard.
ā a fanatic, perhapsā¦?Ā āĀ he brings his face close to the cut and inspects it closely, look, but donāt touch, so long as he took things one leisurely step at a time he was confident he could catch both running hares.Ā this is as much a planted lure as it was an exposing framing; or in other words, as much judicial assistance a civilian sat in the shadows could provide to otherwise ignorant inspectors. his brothers should have already returned the bloody evidence to its belonging killer, and all that was left to guide the law to it, having already drawn them out to sniff.Ā Ā ā letās see ā itās the angle that i find curious. our good friend shogo is privy to wielding a straight razor, isnāt he? previous experiences of having been pat down for one would make me think so, but i digress - the gash is wider on this end than the other, running slanted, and itās much too thick overall. itās clean, but the wound also runs terribly deep⦠ridiculous as it may sound in this day and age, it resembles something one might fetch with a thin saber more than anything else. the victimās bottom half being so dirty also suggests that the body was dragged, if not outright killed somewhere close byā¦Ā ā
his brow lifts, his smile restores itself, his eyes drift onto the inspector, sharp silent and warm in their sudden knowing.Ā Ā āĀ might i suggest sending a few others to visit the nearby antique shop? if i do correctly recall, they had quite the assortment of decorative swords on display⦠as well as a rather macabre assortment of ādonatedā skulls in the corner. i canāt fathom why anyone would want to leave a body here either, unless they were in the midst of moving it for themselves, wanted to avoid suspicions, and so posed it either as a recent happening by someone else or a shoddy suicide. regardless, the killing was meant to be quick, and at this rate, i doubt the perpetrator would see to return to it⦠āĀ his palms clap off dust before they return a stitch at his front, and he turns to confront the inspector squarely, satisfied.Ā Ā ā iām sure you could take it from there, miss tsunemori. with any luck, you find it a reasonable lead?Ā ā
Akane glances at him from her peripheral vision, unperturbed, as sheād expect. Itās a bit troubling to see how a professor can be face-to-face with death with such a placid demeanor, but having an interest in criminal justice must have exposed him to some sort of darkness. Therefore, she decides to push it to the back of her mind, though keeps a note to be the one to do his required background check should he really go through his desire to join the Bureau.
ā Thatās right, he does. ā Sheās seen firsthand, of course, what those hands of his wielding the razor could do. Akane hadnāt inspected that wound personally, so despite how clean the cut may be of expectation, she looks again.Ā ā Since the body was likely moved, Iāll need the coroner-bots to inform me of the victimās time of death. This bodyās decomposition is a little too far advanced for this to be a fresh kill, despite us being informed of this today. ā Not a coroner herself, Akane can only play the waiting game.
Listening to his suggestion, the inspector gives a nod in agreement.Ā ā Itās worth checking out. ā The inspector taps her wrist, making a quick call to the inspectors of Division Two to take a look at the shop. ā Skulls, huh? Itās hardly a crime, but if this person is a victim of failed decapitation, it could explain the rushed cut and choice in weapon. If thatās the case though, then the connection to him is a false one. Unless... ā Akane purses her lips, hand brought to her chin as she frowns.Ā ā Another killer heās charmed? Iāll need to run a background check, hue and all, on the owners of the store, as well as issue a warrant for their customer list. It seems too simple for the owners of an antique shop to be killers, but I canāt rule it out. ā She sighs, rubbing her neck.Ā ā Thank you for the suggestion, Maki. I guess Iām having some weird thoughts about this whole case though. I wouldnāt think much of the skulls, much less from an antique shop, but say that theyāre past victims ā this current case is too sloppy for an experienced killer. Iād say then that the suspect was interrupted in the middle of it, but despite experience, would it look this rushed? A quick kill suggests lack of attachment, but skulls are trophies. Wouldnāt the suspect want to enjoy that kill? ā Pacing back and forth, Akane lifts a finger to her mouth and bites it in thinly veiled frustration.Ā ā It seems too easy though. If the shop is a trap, then thatād make more sense. Iāve already told the inspectors to proceed with caution, but... ā Then she laughs.Ā ā Maybe Iām just overthinking this! Itās been a hectic couple of days. Guess Iāll just wait for results from both sides. ā
Plopping herself onto a nearby bench, Akane rubs her neck and sighs.Ā ā Your timing is impeccable, Maki. Iād say you were in the wrong place at the wrong time... but fortunately, youāre not in any danger here. Who knows, maybe you had contact with one of the suspects, which is why youāre here today. ā Though a small grin tilts upon her lips as she leans back on her hands.Ā ā āDonāt have the courage for itā, huh? Either your poker face is really good or you enjoy pulling peopleās legs. ā
