So, we already know that Mr Samson, Eqlipse, and prob Nigthmare will be relevant antagonists, but what about these guys? (I know C-Cell and Mercury are already scrapped, but I wanted to know about these ones)
Nightmare will not play a very important role in the story. He will only be a simple villain. The true antagonist is Eclipse and his right-hand man, Mr. Samson.
Originally, the Dead Cells bosses were meant to represent all of Abyss!sans' friends (Asgore, Toriel, Undyne, and others). But since they survived, their Dead Cell forms are no longer needed. However, a few remain, such as Cerebrum and certain bosses, who play an important role in the story. We all know what going to happen to Abyss!Undyne
This Gaster comes from the unknown AU from which Abyss!sans and the others who are currently in that AU.
Gaster au name is Emptytale ( The name isn't what you think, it's simply called Emptytale because it doesn't have a name. It used to have one, but not anymore. ) Gaster is the sole survivor and responsible for the incident. His colleagues had warned him against this action, deeming it too risky. He uses human souls and merges them with the machine to destroy the barrier. In the end, he succeeded, but for a huge cause. the barrier was destructive, but soon Gaster realized that there were no more monsters in the vicinity. He then suddenly remembered that the machine he had created absorbed not only the souls of humans, but also those of all the monsters in the underground, except for his own, because miraculously, he was the sole survivor. He checked his machine and discovered that it had accidentally absorbed all the living beings in the underground, except for him. He doesn't understand. He has never programmed a machine to absorb anything, only the determination of the human souls. He thought his machine might have huge defects or that it had been sabotaged.
For days, weeks, months, even a year, he tried to fix it, but it didn't work. He realized it was already too late and there was no going back.
He regretted every day and wish he has listen to his colleagues more. But he desperately longed for freedom. He thought he was acting for the good of the monsterkind, but he was selfish and cared about nothing but himself.
He leave the underworld and return to the surface at will. But the feeling he experienced was never one of peace and warmth, but rather one of cold and sadness.
A year and a few weeks later, a miracle occurred. He heard a noise in the throne room and decided to go and check it out. He saw three monsters: a goat-monster, a male, a female and a child, then he saw a human child. They were all confused and disoriented, as if they had just appeared out of nowhere. Gaster, in shock, recognized Asgore and Toriel. But he was surprised to recognize the young prince Asriel, whom he believed to be dead. but he does not recognize the human girl who is standing next to Asriel.
Gaster used his power to examine their souls and discovered something unexpected, each monster soul bore a round turquoise mark. They might have looked like his friends, because he had known them for a long time, but they weren't his friends. So, he pretended not to recognize them and stepped out of the darkness to approach them and greet them.
He is now relieved to no longer be the only monster in the world. He was going to fix things this time. Or so he thought.
Without realizing it, he hasn't been himself for a long time.
