Prada Spring Summer 2015
From ODO 180 044
"To pass code, establishments scorn their tenants
to embody an architecture of some similarity.
You be the doorstop or the crown moulding, who cares.”
OCTOBER 30.
"at night I wonder
how much you sleep a wall
between my empty bed and your alarm clock.”
—from ODO 180 333. Poetry collection being released October 30.
Clayton of werent and adonisofdenver here,
I’ll be posting here for updates on and the eventual unveiling of my new collection of poetry, ODO 180. Please follow and interact as you wish. Poetry doesn’t exist in a vacuum.
"…the number of hairs on my head?
this knowledge is not mighty, god,
though I have nowhere near
that caliber of parlor trick”
ODO 180. Released October 30th.
In the past 6 months, I've written 74 poems. I'm about to present 30 of them soon. Writing is as important to me as painting and I'm very proud of how much and what I have been writing. Thanks to everyone that reads, critiques, and inspires me. This is what love, experience, and emotion I can share.
"Laces knotted so savagely tight fingers and foreheads throb coming up; it’s so we remember that falling is in each step." ODO 180 080

under a modest calliope
tap your feet, tap the sustain
that twinkles like gypsum
under the tightrope
nowhere in this fabric
sun finds punctures
to tilt midday’s columns
of light on intimacies
gentle circus animal
has forgiven at what cost
has learned to lift its head
under your revered sole
before the plié, toe
and that swift song on
the banks of the low river

do you know the words
we use to describe calls
of birds? the way a falcon
has so little cello in its swooping timbre
symphony, sound together
in a bunched root lace
thinning rhythms we
draped over civilization
since genesis condensed
on the sweating glass
of all waters:
the slow rise and shift
of pickaxes sparking in mines
and, unlistenable, accumulations
of last breaths. who will
record their entire life first?
if it is Piper, are we all Piper then
is listening measured in possible
embodiment?
