hatsukoinu:
❝ I… I ain’ JEALOUS, shitty bastard-!! You oughta get those damn eyes checked!! Y’ mus’ be gettin’ WAY older than ya thought if yer seein’ things that bad!! ❞
Regardless what he says, he is jealous. It’s incredibly obvious that he is, eyes turned away and huffing out loud like an unhappy child. It’s not Leon he’s jealous of, though; he doesn’t need this damn vampire’s belly rubs. Rather, it’s Rei who is subject to all his envy, getting to pet and stroke and fawn over his dog so freely and carelessly. What an absolute bastard.
❝ The hell’re ya doin’ way out here in the sun anyway?! Aren’t ya gonna shrivel up like a prune?! I don’ wanna be responsible later fer havin’ t’ find yer roasted body, ya damn vampire!! ❞
❝ Oh? How generous, worrying about the well-being of an old man like myself. It seems you grow so much every day~...” It could bring tears to his eyes, he’s raised his children well, without a doubt.
Finally standing from where he crouched, red eyes surveyed the boy before him, just as he always was. Mused, dusty hair, and grimace strong and familiar. Ah~ first, Ritsu makes an appearance, and now his adorable little pup. A smirk briefly crossing his lips, and Rei brings a hand up to pat at Koga’s head-- a condescending action, perhaps, or it would be, if not for how weak the sunlight made him. One pat, two pats, and by the third, his hand droops, and he retracts and holds it close to his core.
Hums, and licks his lips. He’s a bit dehydrated if he had to put a word to it. “Ah, I was just headed back to my residence, you know, before I ‘shrivel up,’ as you say. Be a good boy and help me out, would you?”

oh. @adoravit is here.
Walking by the riverside had seemed like a good choice until now. Going off course for a little change of scenery had seemed like a good idea until now. This whole thing had been okay until now.
He hadn’t thought anything of it when Leon ran ahead at first, the new place was exciting, after all, and he was well trained enough that he would find his was back to him on his own, and if not Koga would definitely be able to track him down himself anyways.
But when he does catch up with him, he’s more than a little disappointed in his company.
❝ HAA-?!? ❞ He already sounds unhappy. And loud. Quite loud, in fact, as he picks Leon’s leash back up, a soft growl already starting in his throat. ❝ Yer here too?!! ❞
Oh~? What, would he have rather the devil himself than have Rei? And here he thought his little doggy would be happy to see him.
Not that he had been aware of whether or not Koga was in town.
Adjusting the sleeve of his jacket to better cover his eyes from the sun, Rei is absentmindedly crouched down and patting the belly of the little corgi that had trotted its way over. They said an animal only rolled over to those they trusted, right? An exposed belly was a sign of vulnerability, after all. Ah, the light is quite bright, he wished he had his parasol with him, lest he raisin up in such harsh conditions. He’d hoped the breeze carried in by the tide of the river would ease the stress of being awake during the day. It seems he might have been wrong about that.
“My, my, what a treat,” His voice is low, calm, creating a bit of intentional distance between the elder and the boy that stands before him, yelling, disgruntled.
Rei rests his free hand against his chin, elbow perching on his knee as he squints up towards the other beneath the hand shading him. “Ah~, are you excited to see me, doggy? So loud.. Don’t be jealous of your own companion. Come, come, would you like a belly rub of your own?”
okeokeoke now that i/c/hu event stuff is out of the way (hello i ranked 12th in a groupfes and lived) and ive set up the remaining pages on rei’s blogs, im ready to get rolling so here’s a mun intro
pelt your older brother with beans, ritsu, do it, hit me, kill me with one shot,
★ ∥* here lies ritsu sakuma.
10:27AM. Tuesday. A bench somewhere in Starlight Garden.
Ritsu Sakuma is dead.
When he lay down to rest, tired from wandering in the sunlight, it would seem this would be his true resting place. The heaving of his chest had stopped with his breathing, and his body grows cold as ice. It is probably a bad idea to keep a vampire, dead or alive, lying in the sun as he is, but there is no saving him now.
Ah, how tragic. Someone is in for the shock of their life today.
10:28AM. Tuesday. Maybe. Taking a stroll through the Starlight Garden.
... Maybe.
He who need not a watch own not a watch. Who would need such a modern trinket when you have a century old internal clock to ting and chime when important times are drawing near. Though, this old vampire might be in disrepair, so those times might only be when he’s feeling a bit famished, and when he’s ready to take his rest. Ergo, his clock might not actually be a clock at all. He might just be unable to buy a new phone and pay for service, and misplaced his old one eons ago.
But that was beside the point.
It was an evening stroll, technically. One he was taking his time venturing, huddled under what little refuge was provided by his delicate and moth-eaten parasol, meant to block the light from his fair skin, so easily bothered by its rays that even the slightest exposure sapped his energy. It absorbed it, like succubi soliciting the soul from the body, calling it away. Draining, draining.. visions of his coffin, and his nice boarded up, damp and cool motel room kept him trudging. The morning was his night, and Sakuma Rei was eager to get to bed.
His feet sink into something softer in his path, much different from the texture of the ground he’d tread; for a moment, a complaint crosses his features, worrying about whether his only pair of shoes were dirtied with the soil of the city’s mutts -- there was a reason why there were so few doggies in the world that he could handle, after all. Oh, he needed to get home soon, if his perception has declined so rapidly as to step on some ...
... clothes?
A sleeve, to be express, attached to an arm left dangling, belonging to someone that Rei could feel tremble beneath the brightness of the day, a quivering deep down in his core; a connection; an understanding.
A brotherly love.
❝ Aah~? Ritsu, my darling, precious younger brother, where have you been all my life? Oh--," Pauses, lifts a hand to check for a pulse. Still good. "Never mind that. What are you doing so vulnerable in this sunlight?” When had Ritsu arrived to this strange, new city? When had Rei arrived for that matter, his old mind fails to recollect, but more or less his concerns fall in why they were not brought together, and why he had to stumble across this delightful being in such a troublesome manner. Strewn across the bench, arms dangling on either side, hand precariously testing the waters of the pavement below
Sacrificing the last refuge of his own shade without any hesitation, Rei uses a combination of his jacket, body, and parasol to help protect Ritsu.
Heart aching, he hopes he was not too late, tucking a strand of raven hair behind Ritsu’s ear as he bends down to check for a fever, a burn, any indication of life or death. “Come now, little brother, I will lend you my lap. Hm, there was a nice and shady tree over the hill, let me carry you, Ritsuuuuuuu~...”
He tries not to sound as worried as he is, stitching his tone of voice with a doting speech, and lacing that tight together with overbearing actions. As always, overcompensation meant to hide how he feels, while simultaneously revealing how much he adores his brother, regardless of if he’s met with love or hate in response.
Because everything, his whole world, it was all meant for Ritsu, of course.
