Cordelia Whiting - 30 - Female - Beta - Pirate/Assassin - (ex) Mated
Quinby Brewer - Cordelia never meant to get attached to Quinby but it's undeniable that she is. If anyone asks she'll say she's no longer in love with him but despite their frequent arguments their friends know that's not quite true.
Artemus Harcourt - Though she knows well enough she could be ordered to kill him one day Cordelia has quite a bit of respect for Artemus. He's genuinely a good man and she can respect that since it's rare.
Empathetic, Self-reliant, Observational
Calculating, Cold, Secretive
Cordelia joined the crew of the Red Dasher near it's beginnings. She is an expert with almost any weapon she picks up and can almost match Sonya when it comes to hand to hand combat. For that prowess she was added to the crew as muscle and that's where she met her mate Quinby Brewer.
They were both young and considerably more starry eyed than they are now and though Cordelia had no intention of ever falling in love, let alone mating, she couldn't help but fall for Quinby. They were an explosive couple from the beginning - whether they were fighting or making love it was guaranteed to be loud and probably end with somebody (Quinby) bleeding.
They have been off again and on again (and off and on) since that first year but 9 months ago they swore it was the end and have decided to break their bond. Though they are physiologically still mated they consider each other ex-mates.
Perhaps they never worked out because her loyalty was always divided. Because Cordelia was very deliberately placed among the crew of the Red Dasher.
Cordelia's omega mama was a member of the assassin's guild and Cordelia was the result of an undercover mission. That's the extent of Cordelia's knowledge of her own background as she's never met either of her parents. As soon as she was born her mother gave the infant up to the guild and got back to work.
So she was raised an assassin. She was raised to see everything as weapon, to fight to live, to lie and manipulate until it was second nature. Cordelia's family has always been the guild so when they asked her to go undercover as pirate to watch Artemus Harcourt she didn't hesitate.
Cordelia masqueraded as a simple mercenary offering her arm for coin and though it took years she gained the crew's trust. The guild occasionally sends her side missions but no one questions her occasional disappearance. She's always been intensely private and they
mostly assume she's off checking out the latest and greatest weaponry (and sometimes she is).
Though Cordelia never expected to be in her station for this long she wouldn't change it for the world. She's nervous that with war declared on piracy the guild might finally send her the order to kill her captain and crew mates. If and when that day comes she isn't sure if she can go through with it.
