“Wait, wait, wait…sorry I think I missed something. Do you mind starting from the beginning?” Basil asked, smiling apologetically. He was invested in her story, he truly was, but he had gotten distracted by somebody walking a cute dog and lost what was clearly a vital detail. “I was with you right up until that last part, actually…so maybe not the whole beginning…I don’t want to waste too much of your time..”

Rapunzel chuckled shaking her head. “Don’t worry about It. To be honest I wasn’t exactly sure WHAT I was talking about” she lied. She was used to speaking and no one really listening. Sometimes she talked just so she could remember what her own voice sounded like. “anyway, thanks for walking with me. I get hopelessly lost.”

Peter shook his head when Rapunzel asked if he had a favorite constellation. “No, but Orion is cool I guess.” The truth of it was that he only had a favorite star, not a favorite constellation. They were all good, making it hard to pick one over the others. Peter listened without question, turning his head to look at her as he outstretched his arm towards the star blanketed sky. “What am I doing?”

“Posing. can you hold it like that for a bit?” she said balancing her sketchbook on her knees. she looked up at his hand, sketching out the perspective line and a few other tricks she learned in her art class. She just needed the shape of his hand and then she could wing the rest. “I had an idea, but i can’t use my own hand as reference right now.” she explained.

“…Gesundheit.” he said, unsure of the actual pronunciation of what he assumed must’ve been her name. “And please, Mr. Rider was my father,” It was something of an inside joke that only he understood, given that Rider wasn’t his real last name and that Eugene had no idea who his father was, let alone what people called the man.

He noticed the way she kept looking around. As if she was looking for someone or anticipating danger. He looked behind himself to follow her gaze, but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. “Everything okay?”

Rapunzel had always been a bit more, sheltered than most people her age. Even now, the freedom she did have was stolen. Moments of time where her mother would be gone for hours on end and she could just...be. “I’m just wary of strangers. You know. Ruffians. Thugs. You never know....no offense to you..Flynn.” she said his name softly. There was a sense of familiarity to it, though she couldn't place why. “I don’t get out much.” she nervously chuckled. “Do you sleep in the park often?”

“Hello,” he greeted the blonde politely. “Do you need help?” Rob offered, wanting to help the stranger the best that he could. Walking her home would make his conscious feel better after finding the girl alone and lost.

“I’m trying to get home. I sort of snuck out and my mother will be home any second and I thought this would get me home quicker but I think I may have gotten more lost and I’m going to be in so much trouble if she finds out I snuck out.” the blonde spoke quickly, practically telling the guy her life story. “BASICALLY, do you know how to get to Tower Drive?”

“Throwing a dashing smile people’s way usually does wonders,” he replied. And, predictably, he was smiling. “Or maybe I’m just naturally charismatic.” Satisfied with a solid recovery, Eugene was starting to act like himself again. Or, at least, the ‘himself’ he’d created. “The name’s Flynn Rider. How’s it goin’?”

Rapunzel’s eyebrows furrowed at him as he talked, still wary of the stranger. “Rapunzel.” she introduced herself back. She looked around seeing if any one else was around. It was a nice day so people were around which made her feel better. You could never be too careful. “Well, I’m happy you’re alright and it wasn’t anything serious Mr.Rider. I should probably get out of your hair.”

“Excuse me?” Eugene retorted, still not completely composed after the frog encounter. He brushed himself off and got to his feet. “I did not scream, I just…” He stopped for a moment, meeting her eyes, finally letting out a sigh. “Who’m I kidding? You just saw me get woken up by a frog in my face. I’m not leaving this with my dignity in tact, am I?” He let out a bit of a chuckle. “Not usually how I like to make my introductions.”

Rapunzel took a step back at the man’s tone. She hadn’t meant to offend him. “Oh well. I’ll just be going then.. Happy you’re okay-..” she stopped when he continued. His demeanor somehow changed. “How do you usually make them?” she asked curiously.

Eugene liked parks. For one thing, they were free. And, generally, no one really cared about how long you stayed or had any desire to kick you out for ‘loitering’.

So when he’d laid down in the grass to relax, he expected it to be the start of a peaceful afternoon. He wasn’t sure if he’d actually fallen asleep or if he was simply resting when the frog landed on his face. What he was aware of was that he was suddenly very much awake and fully alert once it happened.

“What the – Agh! God!” Instantly, he was on his feet. He turned around, looking to see where the creature and gone off to. When he saw it hopping away, seemingly no longer interested in coming toward him, he breathed a sigh of relief. “Jeeze!”

Rapunzel was walking home when she’d heard to man yell. She walked a few feet towards the noise, noticing a man on the ground. “Are you alright?” she asked not wanting to get too close. Mother warned her about ruffians and thugs. “I heard you scream, do you need help?” Her head went from side to side looking for any signs of danger. There didn’t seem to be any.

An absent whistle emitted from Robin’s lips as he emerged out of the woods. Spotting someone stopped on the road, his lips parted to speak as he stopped at the tree line. “You okay?” He questioned, cautious to approach the stranger. He may have been the thief, but that didn’t negate the other person as being a possible threat. Plus, he only stole from the rich to help those less fortunate. It was an act of service, nothing more. This person looked like they were already having a bad enough day. Turning his head down the road, he didn’t see anyone else. “Are you out here alone?”

Rapunzel was running late. She’d gotten too comfortable sneaking out while her mother was away. Now her mother would be returning soon and she had gotten lost. She thought it was a short cut to their home. “Oh hello sir.” she frowned looking around. She was always told to not be alone with strangers. But on the empty street, it seemed she didn’t have a choice. “i suppose I am. I got turned around trying to get home.”

Looking up at the stars, Peter eyes wandered over each one. They were all beautiful, but his eyes continued to gravitate towards one that was just right of the brightest star. There was something about it. “What’s your favorite constellation?” He asked the blonde beside him, not taking his eyes off the sky.

Rapunzel glanced back at the Peter beside her and then back up at the stars. “Oh I don’t think I could ever pick a favorite. They’re all so beautiful. Do you have one?” she sighed, reaching a hand up. She suddenly had an idea, grabbing her sketch book out of her bag. “Peter, put your hand up. Like you’re reaching for the star. ” she said laying back beside him.
