Olympe de gouges( 7 May 1748 – 3 November 1793) was born in France and she was famous because she wrote the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Female Citizen .

I think that what surprises me most is that it was executed by guillotine during the Realm of Terror for attacking the regime of the Revolutionary government and for its association with the Girondins.
