“Yeah, that’s also very possible.” Given that Adrian had dramatic reactions to things, he could totally relate with the youngest Kim. “Being with Ian all summer is reason enough.” He shrugged. “Ask one of the Honors Society people, aren’t they the smartest?”

“How can you not listen to rumors around here? You can’t even walk down the hall without hearing something,” she pointed out. The school lived on gossip practically. Gossip and drama. “Sorry, but the attention is never on you. This is the first thing I have heard about you in ages and I’m kinda sad it’s not real,” she admitted with a shrug, leaning her head on her hand. “Nonexistent. I’ve come to accept the fact that the only thing I’m good for is sex. So at least I’ve had some hookups. I won’t be surprised when the rumors start up that I’m the new Luxor Whore.”

“Easy, by not giving a shit,” he pointed matter-of-factly, shrugging. Rumors spread like wildfire around here but Adrian couldn’t be bothered with any of them. Some were funny rumors, for sure, but it was all silly to him and the stupid school thrived off them. Adrian clicked his tongue and shook his head in disappointment. “Jealousy is not a good look on you, Kenzie. But I can’t blame you either.” He relaxed back in his seat. “Sex is good. What’s the problem with that? New Luxor Whore? Excuse you, have you seen Zane?”

“Are the rumors trumors?” Kenzie asked, plopping down in the seat next to Adrian. “Have you actually found a girlfriend? I wasn’t sure if I could believe it. You never seemed the relationship type,” she admitted, not trying to be rude, but being completely honest with him. “If it is, I’m nothing but happy for you. I think it’s great and I have got to meet the girl that is able to nail you down.”

Adrian looked up from his phone as Kenzie sat down next to him. His face was neutral. “Since when do you listen to rumors? Especially at this school. Nah, the rumors aren’t true.” Which was true; him and Raina were not dating. They haven’t defined what was going between the two yet. But he was in a sense committed to her. “Though it’s nice to know I’m the center of attention again. As it should be.” He relaxed back. “How’s your love life going though? Not a subject of the school’s gossip anymore.”

She laughed lightly at his words. He was one cocky little shit, but Raina adored him regardless. People were smart enough and knew not to mess with Adrian Knox, though that didn’t necessarily mean he wouldn’t get in trouble. “You sure about that?” she teased, her lips planting a kiss on his jaw. “But…. we can kiss all day… you don’t want to have cold burgers though..” Giggling lightly, the blonde wrapped her arms around him as he picked her up. “Patience is a virtue, they all day that.” Smiling over at him, Raina held her bag open so he could take out all the food. “Adrian Knox… patient. Now, this is a day I never thought I’d live to see.”

“Sure about what? But the answer yes probably, because I’m always sure about things,” he pointed out matter-of-factly, lips curving up to a boyish grin as he focused on her. “True. We can definitely kiss all day. And that’s what I’m planning. Hmm yeah, cold burgers don’t sound too good.” He helped take everything out, setting them on his empty desk. It all smelled great and it just got him hungrier. “I can’t relate. Patience sucks. And I don’t like how it feels.” He shrugged casually. “The things I do for you. Don’t tell anyone I’m being patient though. They’ll think I can change other things about myself. But nah.”

“That’d never happen, you had me!” Ches wasn’t going to admit to the fact she had considered it and still opted to do it regardless of the risk. It had gone off perfectly, the thought process (and willingness to ignore the possible flaws) didn’t matter as long as neither of them was on the ground. “Of course, I’d be offended if you didn’t haunt me because I have full intentions of haunting you if I die first. Can’t have you missing me or some shit, that’d be disgraceful.” She teases, if there was an afterlife, the concept Ches wouldn’t show up to pester everybody she could was laughable. As if she wouldn’t want to steal her friends’ attention from time to time even in death. “Good, ‘cause I’d be disappointed if you said this was too extra. ‘Cause I was going to scheme even more dramatic entrances after this and you’d be killing my grove.” She jokes, “though I probably should get off your back. As much as I’m enjoying this, self-care time would be boring if you’re taking a nap the entire time.” Still, she makes no move to let go or get off of his back. “But you’re right, we’ll figure something out, properly catch up, all that fun stuff. I’m still expecting an ‘I told you so’ for the whole class load biting me in the ass thing. Just saying.”

“I’m carrying you! We’d have both tumbled down,” Adrian pointed out, looking back at her, still carrying her and not minding it. It was a very plausible scenario especially since he didn’t expect it, but his good reflexes proved to be a savior. He chuckled. “At least we both agree we’ll haunt each other, but then again, it was my expectation.” Imagine if Ches and Adrian weren’t haunting people in the afterlife. They both loved attention way too much and they both knew it. “I only expect more dramatic entrances, you know me.” He grinned. “I’m good. Not taking a nap. Where should be we go?” With that, he started aimlessly walking, still carrying Ches up on his back. He didn’t have a specific destination in mind and he’d let the female pick. “Honestly, Ches, what went in your head when you decided to take eight classes? Who told you it was a good idea?” Seven classes were tiring as hell, he couldn’t imagine taking on an extra one sounds impossible to him. But also if anyone he knew were to take on an extra class, it’d be Ches.

A pout crossed Caleb’s features. “No, that means I only have a few weeks to pull my grade up or I’m stuck here all summer.”

“Think of it as motivation,” he told the other, patting his shoulder. “You’ll be fine, Kim.” At least he realized he needed to work as opposed to a few minutes ago when he was against the idea. “I hear the tutors here are good.”
