eBay’s Revenue Up in First Quarter
eBay has posted a 14% increased revenue in the first quarter of 2013. The increased revenue came on the back of increased sales and a larger number of customers using eBay to do their shopping. The marketplace revenue of eBay grew by 13% to reach $2 billion.
The outperformers were the fixed-price listings, which showed a 68% jump in sales. PayPal, which is owned by eBay, also showed a double digit increase in revenue this quarter, which is all set to grow in the future.
Sellers associated with eBay can rejoice and look forward to higher sales and increased exposure to customers nationally as well as internationally in the future. If high shipping costs are eating into the profits, the Adship eBay program can help reduce them. Patrick Blanchet, the founder of Adship and the inventor of Pay-Per-Ship advertising says “We match shippers with advertisers. Shippers benefit from the revenue generated from placing non-competitive, complementary Ads in the order fulfillment process and advertisers benefit from the high conversion rate produced from these qualified buyers.”
