1971-1973 Porsche 911E at Fuelfed Coffee and Classics in Winnetka, Illinois.

This is an example of one of the original Porsche 911s. Some say it continued into production till 1989 but I can’t help but feel that the bigger bumpers, different trim, and fender flares completely changed the soft and smooth look of the original.

This 911E had the 165 horsepower (123 kW) 2.4 liter engine. Unfortunately, these have gone up in value in the last decade to the point where they are no longer easily affordable. Even the less powerful four cylinder engined 912 is also a lot more expensive than it once was.
