hello tennisblr! as you’ve probably guessed from the extended quiet, insurmountable real life hurdles for one of the admins meant we were ultimately unable to host the midseason flash round we promised.

many apologies for failing to deliver on this—after the season we’ve had so far, there’s no doubt tennisblr would have produced another round of wild prompts and creative fills. :(

we’re still planning to host a second full promptfest this winter, and we hope to expand the admin team as well! meanwhile, tennis rpfers looking for fun events to join might be interested in:

@wtafest, a wta fic and art fest, running now through december 15

Is the flash round still happening?

yes! it's just going to happen later than anticipated due to unforeseen logistical hurdles - the schedule poll failed to account for those. (sorry!) hoping to get a schedule finalized and posted sometime this week.

for this question, keep in mind that unlike the main event, the flash round won't have a buffer between prompting and posting—as soon as prompts go live, you're welcome to start posting.

hello everybody guys! it's been five months since we left you at the beginning of AO and… so much has happened. so much that we're thinking about hosting a midseason flash round! 

a flash round would move faster and end earlier than our main event—just a couple days to prompt, then a free-for-all period to fill and post as soon as prompts go live. 

but as always, this depends on you. do you have ideas waiting to be prompted? do you have the time and energy to create? if the answer to those questions is yes, please let us know when you'd most like to see a flash round take place and how long you'd like it to last.

this post will be followed by a second poll so please share your opinion on both if you can!

i would be most likely to participate in a flash round sometime between:

june 17-30 (wimbledon eve)

july 14-31 (post-wimbledon)

august 1-21 (peak hardcourt/uso eve)

And finally he will allow himself to call his boyfriend from another continent, whom he hasn’t seen in exactly 2 weeks and 5 days.

he glanced at novak and somehow he could read the words in his eyes. he had the advantage of decades and history, things jack would never be able to have. he knew andy in ways he never would, that much was clear.

prompt fill: Jack Draper/Novak Djokovic - Novak knows how obsessed Jack is with Andy and goes out of his way to rub the fact he got Andy to coach him first in the boy's face. Degradation and/or praise kink on Jack's part. (Maybe voyeur Andy?)

it's been unbelievably fun to see this event play out, from the massive number of prompts received to the out-of-the-box ideas for how to fill them. we hope it was as enjoyable to participate as it was to run the show!

there's just one day left to post your fills before the end of the event! specifically, advantage tennisblr 2024-2025 will "officially" close at 11:59 p.m. january 12, GMT-8 (pacific standard time). yes, this is technically the second day of ao main draw play, but we want to give you (and ourselves) as much time as possible to get those last fills finished and posted.

yes! the ao3 collection will stay open and the prompt and fill tables will stay live. you are 100% encouraged to post your fill late, or keep using the prompts as inspiration throughout the season.

then what does it mean that the event is closed?

it means that the admins will stop regularly monitoring the tumblr tags, the ao3 collection, and the email account. we'll do our best to reblog fills if we see them, as well as to update the fill table, but we can't guarantee when that might happen.
