What's adventure lite about?

Adventure Lite is about experiencing adventure at minimal cost to the environment and to yourself. In other words 'adventures needn't cost the Earth'.

The principles of adventure lite are:

Go beyond 'leave no trace' and actively 'leave wild places better than you find them' e.g. picking up the trash / litter left by other people.

Minimise your impact on the environment e.g. avoid cutting wood /unnecessary campfires.

Don't spend more than you need to on gear / travel e.g. make your own gear, adventure closer to home.

Reduce the weight of your backpack.

Take time to adventure whenever you can e.g. microadventures / 5-9 adventures.
