A literal dumpster fire. The dumpster behind/under my building actually caught fire and we were out of the building for 4 hours.

Someone “wanted to see if their lighter was working, so I lit a cigarette in my room”

Who’s university has lavender housing or a LGBTQIA learning community? I’m trying to get something like it implemented at my university and want to hear from RAs at other schools about how it works. Any and all help is appreciated!

Y’all, move in was Saturday and it’s already been wild. Here’s a conversation I had with a resident in the elevator yesterday

Them: how’d you hurt your ankle

Me: i was dancing (google the church clap and that’s how I sprained my ankle)

Them: WERE YOU DRUNK???

I’m finally home for the summer and reflecting back on my first year as an RA, I wouldn’t change a thing. I had great residents (who sometimes drove me up a wall), the best staff I could ask for, and great friends that were always there to support me. I can’t wait to take on year 2 in August

Dear residents,

It’s that time in the semester again where I will be more displeased then usual when you do something stupid that makes me write an IR. I have final exams, finals duty, and I have to check you hellians out of the building for summer. So please for the love of god don’t do dumb shit in the next two weeks. I really have no desire to deal with ODOS right before summer or right when we get back from summer.

Being an RA at a school on the coast is wild bc I’m the fall we’re all worried about hurricanes but the spring means severe thunderstorms and tornado watches

Both mean that I have to be ready to do some wild ass shit and calm down residents who have never experienced severe weather
