my dearest allison,
here are the photos i took with duffy around the city.
she is there for you to cuddle whenever you feel lonely. she and i both love you very, very much.
whenever you give her a big hug, you're getting all of my love, too.
hang in there. you're so strong, and we both admire you for it.
and this one was taken at the post office, right before i taped up the box to send her along to you!
(i purposely didn't tape it very well, and told her she was free to roam around the airport and the airplane, so long as she made darn sure she got back into the box as soon as she arrived in chicago!)
she's so excited to meet you! she loved new york, but she's ecstatic to be heading to chicago (:
my roommate stole my camera off of my desk and took this one once i'd fallen asleep. she said she tried to move duffy a little to see her face better, but that i tightened my grip, so this was the best she could do.
she read with me before i fell asleep. she liked jane austin, although she came in during the middle of the book so i had to explain what was going on. she caught on pretty quickly, though. she's a smart cookie.
she reeeeeeaally liked her tea.
we had a tea party. TARDIS tea pot included!
(this was when i explained doctor who to her. although i still omitted the weeping angels. i didn't want to scare her too much)
(i only noticed after the photo was taken that the owl salt shaker was totally photo bombing)
duffy made a friend while i was at work!
she wanted a picture of the two of us (:
duffy sitting at the fountain at lincoln center. she loved the lights (:
the pouty/duck face was the "i'm on the phone with the bank and this is getting nowhere." duffy offered to snuggle to relieve my stress, and i happily took her up on it.
i took her with me to work, and she was so excited to find a refrigerator that was "her size". she sat there contentedly while i was on the phone with the bank.
duffy begged and pleaded to take a picture "near the pretty fountain". i didn't want to tell her how dangerous it was, but as long as there were two of us, i figured it'd be safe. (plus, i had the safeguard of all the tourists who stared at us while we took the photo).
just in case, though, i didn't blink.
