Sunny California - My new home since January 2017
California, we meet again. The first time I visited California, I went to San Diego. The weather, beaches, and people were gorgeous. The air felt fresh and cleared my soul from all my daily worries. This time, I spent 5 days in LA with my boyfriend, Pablo and his family. His sister picked us up from the airport and we went to drop her off at work. The night before, Pablo and I only slept for maybe, 1 hour. Ha-Ha! Because I was so worried about my class, I tried to at least stay for half of my night class and explained to my professor I needed to leave early to drive 3 hours to Houston, to catch a flight in the morning. He asked me where I was traveling and wished me all the fun for my 30th birthday celebration. I apologized for not getting to sit in for the rest of his class (he is a really great professor, one class I always enjoy) and he replied with a smile, “it is, what it is!” Our first stop in California was the Santa Monica Pier... Pablo and I immediately took off our shoes and embraced the warm California sand with our bare feet. At that moment, I could sense that he felt at home and so did I. It was such a relief to feel so carefree in that moment. We walked near the water and felt the cold waves hit our legs. We enjoyed taking every single part of the day in. We were exhausted, but the beach brought life into us. We laid 2 towels down that his sister brought for us and watched everyone on the beach enjoying the day. I just wanted to stay and sleep there all day. Later, we went to pick up his sister from work and I tried sleeping in the back of the car to gain some energy. We stopped at a shoe store before getting home and I picked up 2 new pairs of comfy shoes. Later that night, his family showed me pictures from their past... told me stories from birthdays, trips, and more. I enjoyed a glass of wine with his sister and Mom. We later went to sleep...hitting the bed felt like marshmallows. You know those days, when you have so many good things happen, you feel tired, but the good tired. Like ahhhh, this is the life. lol
My host mom sewed on the buttons my friend in Tokyo bought me.
I'll remember them both every time I wear this cardigan.
I great friend and school mate I will always remember. I was so very proud of you for having the courage to present your own music for the first time in Japan. It was amazing to hear your story through your DJing. I wish you all the luck and I truly enjoyed getting to know you.
Good luck man - The world will love you! :)
Enjoyed a great lunch with 3 classmates on our last day in Kyoto, Japan. I had so much fun getting to know each of you and I wish you all the best for your futures. <3
Another day at my (host family) grandma’s farm. :)
My first time ever singing at a karaoke place. It was so fun! I attempted to sing songs in Japanese with my Host mom and her friends. lol!! Cheiko (host mom) and I sang the intro song for the drama we waked every morning together. <3
