Eugh, count me out mate. I wouldn’t bloody touch it at all. You couldn’t pay me enough for that one. Okay, well that’s a relief I suppose. Just be careful yes? I think you’ll do just fine love but all the same.
Cheers, I’m glad I’ve survived this bloody long too. I’ve been here for quite a while now so I’ve had plenty of practice. Cheers though, I got trained by a pretty top mentor.
my housemate has tried it once and she's, like, in love. before the apocalypse she never had the healthiest diet anyway, chipotle was her best friend. honestly did not think she'd like this bullshit. i'll be careful, okay? i promise, hell, pinkie promise.
so you can work a gun pretty well, i can imagine? you seem cunning enough, you could go places, gav. and with training? you have a better chance surviving the apocalypse than i do.

The air was thick with silence. Somewhat unnatural, but expected. The only thing heard was shuddery breaths from himself, slightly caught in his throat, and soft footsteps. Ray stepped along, bent low, shaky fingers grasping the handgun he hated having to carry. But it was kill or be killed. His arm ached, still throbbing with pain, the oozing, sticky wound mostly untreated, just wrapped in gauze and hidden under his sleeve. It was going to be trouble for a long time, no doubt.
Weaving between long since abandoned cars, locating the route with the least amount of broken shit and most cover, Ray continued on, eyes picking through anything he could, looking for something, anything that might be of interest. There was another sound, though. One that wasn’t his own. Footsteps? Possibly. Dead? Who knows. Ray pulled his shoulders in, hissing slightly at the pain that spiked through him, tightening his grip on the gun.
Dark brown orbs flickered over the scenery, vigilant as ever, only hindered slightly by the crack in his glasses. He stepped carefully, trying to make as little noise as possible, trying to focus on the low sound of whatever else was moving. Ray tensed, trying to hide the shaking, stepping closer only to stop. His foot slid, catching on something, pulling a sharp gasp from his lungs, and he threw a hand out to catch himself on the car nearest him. Using his injured arm, of course. He whimpered, curling in a bit, lifting his hand to press into his shoulder.
Wow. Way to fucking go, Narvaez. If there was a zombie there, you just made way too much fucking noise.
The silence returned momentarily and Courtney felt foolish for having her arms locked up in the air. Slowly her hands unclasped and her elbows unlocked, but her stance remained the same. Feet shoulder-width apart, shoulders up and high. It made her look slightly bigger, though her biggest disadvantage was. . actually being about 5'3. If anything it added to the shock factor, you don't really expect a tiny blonde chick to wield a rifle and bust some heads together. Now that she's dwelling on it, a rifle didn't sound too bad right about now. Later, she'd scout for one later, as if she didn't already have enough on her plate.
A quick look to the horizon lets her know that sunset was upon her and she made sure to shove more of her guards up. The walkers were grabby, definitely, so Courtney made sure she was prepared. A few minutes without a gun in her hand led to her blonde hair being shoved into a tight bun at the base of her skull, and the ring in her septum to be removed. It was tucked somewhere safe and she was back to gripping her gun a bit too tight. Yes, silence was usual but it always put people on edge. Something bad was going to happen if it was too silent. Her knuckles turned a pale color and she tried her best to walk with inaudible footsteps.
Cobblestone and shattered glass and fallen foundation from crumbled facades made that task a lot harder than needed. More than twice had Courtney caught herself looking at the ground instead of the areas in front of her. This will eventually lead to her guard falling down right in front of her and that's exactly what she doesn't need. The thick and nearly suffocating silence is cut off abruptly by grunting, noises made from cars. Flesh hitting the surface of a car and the first thing to come to mind is a zombie caught in between a car and a hard place. Somehow she feels slightly safer and her footsteps quicken. Courtney just needs to get home.
A shadow on the horizon grips his shoulder and her pale hands clench into fists and move closer to her. Her first thought is, oh my god this walker doesn't have an arm this dude is literally missing an arm but all of the thoughts about zombies kind of fade when the person hisses and mumbles or gasps, Courtney can't tell. But instead of focusing about the potential one-handedness of the person in front of her, she raises her gun again. The streets were quiet, maybe calling out would be her final resort. A few more footsteps closer and Courtney is trying to speak loud.
"--Hhhey, you up there," her voice is soft and cracks slightly, but she clears her throat into her shoulder and speaks a little louder. "Are you one of them? A walker or a raider? Either way I won't hesitate to kill you!"

It is. Cheeseburger in a can? Bloody hell, that sounds absolutely minging. Well just be careful yeah? I mean, they show up a bit in the dark is what I’ve heard but I’m probably wrong. All I know is what I’ve seen in movies and whatnot and who knows how accurate that nonsense is.
It’s a pretty top job! I like working for my family. They’re a good lot. It’s bloody dangerous most of the time but it’s worth it.
it's a waste of water, because apparently you boil the can and then you pull the top off and it's a cheeseburger. i have no clue where in hell this was pulled up from, but i'm not eating it. they are active in the dark, but they're human. dead, but human, which means they have the same capabilities when it comes to sight. in the dark, they depend on noise. so you work off of that. i'll be as careful as i can, don't worry.
it sounds pretty damn top, really. i'm glad you've survived this long, you've proved yourself strong enough to handle. . well a shitload of things. props to you, definitely.

Food is important. Though wouldn’t it be more dangerous going at night? Since it’s harder to see and whatnot? That would be pretty top though, get yourself necessary supplies and also get to keep yourself warm. Works pretty bloody well. Everything will go well, just keep yourself sharp is all.
Well, I’m a professional assassin working for one of the top families in the city.
food is very important. and i'm not wasting what water we have left for this dumb cheeseburger in a can. i'll take a granola bar by now. ah, well, i've had some time to get used to the dark. if i'm lucky, there's a few streetlights. if not, well it takes the human body a few minutes to get adjusted to the dark. i've done it before, i'll be fine. if all else fails, worst-case scenario i'll live off of this canned fat and wrap myself in the ripped and bloodied blankets we have.
woah. didn't expect assassin. that sounds. . really cool, actually! besides all of the danger, i guess, but danger does bring adrenaline.

Well, just be careful about going too far into the city yeah? I’ve heard it can be kind of bloody dangerous in cities. But I’m sure you’re careful and bloody well capable of it. Good, cheers for that mate. I’d appreciate being kept up to date.
Mmm, I could probably talk a tiny bit about it. There’s just a bit that’s very confidential.
will do! i barely dip my feet into the city but i might head there tonight. my housemate and i are kind of down on foodstuffs, and if i can find a jacket or a coat it'll be like winning the lottery. words like those are what keep m' going. i feel like everything'll go good.
well, then go ahead. fill me in, gavino.
+aedvivo
Bollocks, do you have anywhere nearby that you could nab some supplies from? Since usually areas that are designed for winter have stuff that you could use yeah? Be safe love. Wouldn’t do good to get killed.
It had been yeah, but things are getting back to normal for now. Well. As normal as my job can be.
well, if i go a little farther into the city there are probably malls around that have. . hopefully SOME winter gear. i can't exactly go online shopping so a little adventure is the best i got. thanks for the concern, i'll update if things go haywire.
i'm glad that you've finally got some time to put your feet up. can i question about your job or is it completely confidential.
+aedvivo
Courtney, works for me.
Snow, yeah that’s a right big problem honestly. If you’re careful it’ll be easier to handle yeah. I’ve been alright. Got back to a safe area now and I’m relaxing again.
i figured i could deal with a little snowfall but then i realized that i have absolutely no winter gear and no source of heat so the events will unroll when they will. i'm safe but i'm not sure how long that'll last.
good to hear that you're relaxing. i take it things had been really tough for you?
+aedvivo
'Ello there love. Call me Gavino, what should I call you?
How’re you doing today?
hey there yourself, mister. m'name's courtney, but i'll go by just about anything.
i'm doing just about as good as you could do in this kinda weather. i think it's gonna snow tomorrow but i can deal. how've you been, gavino?

With her back bent, head low, Courtney walked among the shadows. She tried her best to stay low and silent in the shadows, if no one could see her it would steer her away from any more problems. Absentmindedly picking at the dried blood under her fingernails, the blonde looked at the area and everything that was left in it. Pieces of glass on the concrete, cars with no tires and their hoods popped up. Courtney wasn't about to lie to herself, she had popped a few hoods and took a few car batteries. Only for her housemate, though, to see if they could still save her car. A few failed tries led to the both of them becoming hermits in the shitty apartment they found.
Courtney's steps slowed to almost a stop and she turned her revolver over in her hands. A quick check of how many bullets were left in the barrel forced a sigh out of her tired lungs and she decided maybe it was about time to go home. Home was safe, well, for now, and she trusted Barbara to keep watch. Turning on her heel, keeping a tight grip on the weapon in hand, momentary shuffling greeted her and she didn't hesitate to pull her arms up and lock on whoever was there.
Stuttered gasps fell into the stuffy Southern air and she squinted behind her sunglasses. No sudden noises, as Courtney wasn't completely sure that the shuffling came from someone who was alive. Her steps were nimble as she backtracked all of her progress, only goal on the mind right now was heading back home.
i'm so hungry but all we have is... "canned cheeseburger."
WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?
no where.
where i am is good enough at the moment.
