SIENNA:
Sienna still remembers the day she met little Rhea, Sienna was just ten years old and Rhea was just a tiny little baby but she remembers the excitement that she felt when she got to hold her but yet how scared she was she would drop her. That same day she promised herself she’d do her best to be the BEST friend that little girl ever had and now six years later Sienna didn’t regret that promise one bit, she had found her partner in crime, her best friend, her SISTER. “ Thank you because I am pretty sure the words ‘grounded’ went through my aunt’s head and I have never been grounded in my life. Your mom was quite worried to and you know I don’t want her to worry too much”. The excitement on Rhea’s face when she mentioned the cottage made Sienna’s whole day – wait no it made her whole YEAR. Seeing her so excited was what she wanted, she never wanted that little smile to fade of her face. “ Correction, OUR cottage. And you know your mom does it only to protect you but hey my seventeenth birthday is coming up, ask her if you can stay then.” she spoke with a small shrug as they approached the cottage. “ Go in, I made some adjustments, stringed up a few more of those christmas lights and found a few more flowers. Oh also I found a TON of books”
“Mama worries all the time over other things, Sienna. I think she’s worrying about something else today too so you’re safe.” It was a matter of fact — and it wasn’t just her mama too, it was both her parents. Rhea was a naïve little girl especially when it came to most things but survival was a word that she has heard before and has grappled with. The monsters that they spoke of weren’t so much of a mystery but a rarity to see, as with water — but Rhea preferred to see the light in all of it and at its centre? At its centre was Sienna ; her blonde flowing hair was enough to shine a light on multiple universes, Rhea bet. “That’s a good idea! Sienna, you have to tell me when your birthday comes so I don’t forget! I can make you something too, from me!” She beamed and it was fixed on her face as she stepped into Sienna’s — no, THEIR — cottage. “Wow.... It’s so pretty!” Rhea ran to the lights, touching them gently and holding them in her hands. “Will you read the books to me? Pretty please?”
