there are modern day fools, under which they self-proclaim as 'gnostics', (which btw, all historically died out - and unless you have a doctorate in theology i really do not care about the validity and practician of any "gnostic's" faith).
1- divinity, is not knowledge. the biggest tools of the modern day oppressor is myth and idealisation.
to me, many gnostic or pantheistic religions fall into an essentialist trap. the human mind can identify forms, attach a god-figure to them, and iconographise essence, failing to consider what is worthy of worship. what does it say about your heart that you choose to worship anything but the good?
one who doesn't scrutinise entirely what he puts his heart towards venerating, and is swayed by the charms of words and myth, is in my mind in equality to an animal who is lured so entirely by his primality that he becomes it.
those who redeem evil, are the most guarded from it. there is a reason why neo-paganism, neo-gnosticism, and what have you, are always esteemed by those who are politically and marginally not subjugated and oppressed by neo-liberalism. i almost think of them in the way of like, i am in a corrupt material society, so i'm going to accelerate this corrupted-ness in hopes that i can out-evil my oppressor. the reason they have to do this through reactionary and contrarian religions is because they fail to make the connection that the material world and social-economic society holds not just "others", but every individualist, and that change can be made through good. i personally think that someone who has gone out of their way (because no one is born into thinking like this, only conditioned into apathy), to believe that the world is *inherently* evil, and that humanity is perfect, is one of the most entitled, useless, selfish types to crawl this earth. how can you see suffering, and attach it as a characteristic of the world, instead of using your *free will*, to change it? how does it feel to have the worldview of a selfish fat coward?
these people who worship corruption, except only when it happens to them, are destined to feel the tyranny of their apathy when their blade is turned upon them in hell.
god is not theological knowledge. god is love. there are nonnas in rural villages living in complete lack compared to you, who know this fact based on material experience. if you're still stuck on some "if god is good why evil exist" level then maybe this should reveal something to you. are you so egotistical to think that you are capable of conceptualising god in his divinity entirely in your brain?
