That would actually be a really cool idea to implement somehow...

I may look into it, although I can't currently say whether it would be even possible within the engine, especially with fitting dialogue to accompany it.

Well, anyway…

Depending on whether you selected the optional interaction to read one of his stories, you may already know that Myrddin uses his own drawings to create a storybook adventure.

Now… the artwork itself is… not particularly impressive (to put it kindly), lol.

It establishes that drawing is... not one of his greatest talents, despite what he might personally claim.

Because he has had almost no exposure to visual art, possessing only textbooks rather than comics or anything similar, I believe he would carefully preserve and treasure any drawings you gave him.

It might also be one of the rare occasions when he would openly acknowledge someone else's abilities as surpassing his own.

Art is not something he can simply imitate, so he would be genuinely fascinated by your ability to create it.

Depending on the subject of the drawing, it could even hold considerable sentimental value for him.

Perhaps he would even set his ego aside and ask you to teach him.

Since decorating the room is already part of the game, the artwork you created could also potentially be displayed on its walls.

Upon hearing he would like cats, I knew what I had to do. I really do need to do more art while I still have free time. Oh well.

Trying new art styles out, I suppose? You can tell why I mostly draw portraits of humans. I don't think I've ever drawn a cat and thought "Wow, thst looks so good!" It's okay, though, because I suppose it was worth the struggle. Kind of.

Lone Girl.

Lone girl, she perches atop a pile. Medallions around her neck; Her stare all but a thousand miles. Ink in her chest alike specks.

Olive eyes land unto her bearer. Eyes once loving, looked sunken. But if to mingle with a stranger, Her irises become anew, lightened.

Alive, her eyes told otherwise. Yet as the Lone girl speaks, And her mouth murmurs them lies, Her ink-filled heart leaks.

The hand of the girl extends. Nothing was wrong, she begs. She offers to make amends. They dare not offer a bent leg.

Her chambers, the Lone girl lies. Tears pouring out a river, endless. Heart at hand,, she cries “Please remove this abscess.”

Ebony stains her fingers. It took naught even a second. For now, her hands lingers, On the gloved hand she donned.

Theatre.

A lone door on the other side. The wall spans out of sight. The door is slightly open. It's couldn't hurt to peek inside.

Inside lies theatre. The chairs span for kilometers. The camera isn't up. Only the sound of the light is heard as it sputters.

The seats smell faintly of mold. It feels heavy, yet cold. And as if it hasn't turned on before, The screen flashes a story untold.

It starts in the hospital. So small, smaller than a doll. It flashes someone familiar to you. Then high school.

Every scene felt like yours. From the way their hand matures. But their reflection from the start. It wasn't you, you were sure.

All there is to do is watch. Years felt out of touch. Like something to return to. A life unlike yours, to match.

It keeps going. The story keeps flowing. Like a book bought without regret, So why is your heart aching?

Sitting in the theatre. Were chairs that spans for kilometers. Every second, every hour, everything. You watch, in the comfort of its interior.

While working on the next chapter, I wanted to share a few unused assets.

Due to certain limitations, I usually choose an initial direction for the artwork and commit to it rather than exploring many different alternatives. From there, the main artist, ngochau, brings that direction to life.

Even so, there are still a few unused assets and concepts that were never developed any further.

The first one may look familiar to those who experienced Chapter II in its entirety.

It was the original scene planned for the story, "The Boy, the Youth, and the Present."

However, compared to what was ultimately used, the current version is significantly stronger in terms of artistic design, scenery, perspective, and overall presentation.

There was also a very early concept involving an occasional scare, where Myrddin would briefly be given a "face" similar to those seen in the background whenever the voices are heard.

Lastly, there was also a slightly different version of Myrddin with a "brighter" color palette. This was created around the same time as his current sprite, meaning it also comes from a very early stage of development.

Good day!

With every major update, I also try to improve everything else surrounding Interact With Me!.

This includes making a greater effort to bring new eyes to the game, improving the devlogs, and refining the store page.

The store page in particular tends to change in some way with every update, whether through smaller adjustments or more significant revisions.

In a sense, it acts as an outward reflection of the improvements being made to the game itself.

That being said, I am still rather inexperienced when it comes to the areas mentioned above, so I often find them difficult to approach properly.

At the moment, I'm not entirely satisfied with the current capsule (thumbnail). I simply don't think it does enough to spark curiosity.

So... I waddled over to the main artist of Interact With Me! and asked for help creating something more fitting.

The idea itself is fairly simple, and its final version will also be much simpler in comparison to the current capsule.

The concept focuses mainly on Myrddin, holding the cube in a way that covers part of his face. The cube itself would be "transparent", allowing the other half to still be seen, though blurred.

In simple terms, it is essentially the main sprite in a specific pose, just rendered with more detail.

Hopefully, that "simplicity" will make the intended sense of curiosity more effective, while also contributing more strongly to the game's overall aesthetic.

I will refine the smaller details once it's fully done, but the sketch, made by Ngochau, already communicates the overall direction perfectly!

I'll be blunt, I have no idea how exactly to use Tumblr right now, so please bear with the randomness!

I don't want this to simply become another page for current development updates, since that is already what the devlogs on itch.io are for.

Instead, I might occasionally post about behind-the-scenes topics that are not usually addressed. For example, how IWM started, why I made it, what inspired it, why certain things are the way they are, and so on.

And of course, if there is anything you are curious about, please feel free to ask!

Today, I will simply mention a little fun fact that probably very few people know.

Ah, it was for Scream Jam 2025.

That is why the official published date on the store page is Oct 17, 2025, rather than Feb 13, 2026, which is when Version 0.1 was released.

Personally, I consider the latter to be the official release date, since the prototype and the current version are essentially completely different games.

Frankly, the prototype was very bare bones and didn't achieve anything particularly impressive, but you can already see the clear direction of what would eventually become the current version.

For example, you can compare what the title screen looked like back then with what it looks like now:

I'm... I'm not the only one who thinks this is quite a leap... right?

Well, anyway...

I headcanon Cove to be booksmart in stem subjects but would struggle in MAPEH subjects. Maybe they'd also have significant trouble with literature? Those are subjects I had an easier time with. But I think we'd both struggle in Filipino 😭
