2- Do you use a self insert or create an OC for your MC? Both?

All of my gameplays of OLBA were with my self insert MC! I can´t imagine playing it any other way, I've become too attached 😭

3- Favorite moment you've played from each game?

I've only played OLBA, so yah.. It´s hard to pick a favorite moment but i'm specially fond of the Step 2 Growing. It really meant a lot to me seeing Cove open up about complex topics, and it got me reflecting things about myself too. Plus I really enjoyed being able to make my own sandwich. Also honorable mention to Step 4 cuz it's my favorite !!

8- Who are your favorite OLBA and OLNF NPCs?

I'm assuming the NPCs are the secondary characters that don't have DLCs, in which case I'd say it's Liz! I love her so much, her growth was a very interesting journey to witness! Makes me wish I had an older sister growing up...

23- What is a headcannon/special fact that is unique to your OL story/gameplay?

When I was a kid I remember carrying my DS around and taking pictures just to edit them, I keep imagining how that would've been like if Cove was around. Maybe we'd run around the neighborhood just playing with the DS camera haha. I also really loved creating Mii´s and playing Wii Sports Resort... What if we like, in each step recreated each other's Mii's based on how we see each other... that sounds like fun! I keep thinking about that. I got super hyped up with the Tomodachi Life 2 demo release too, I immediately created Miis for me and Cove. I guess happiness really lies on the simple things.

It’s finally coming together…

Thank you Our Life Beginnings and Always Tumblr Community for making me smile everyday and not making me feel alone 🩵

I’m fairly new to selfshipping/yumeshipping (even though I’ve been obsessed with Cove since the game’s release 😭), but it was always something I’d be embarrassed to talk about or even think…

But since I’ve been seeing so many fanarts of him, I’ve come to realize that maybe it isn’t so wrong to feel so strongly about a character. Cove genuinely helped me feel better about myself and boost my confidence during the times that I needed the most. This might be oversharing but right before I had discovered the game, I was going through a hard time processing and grieving the passing of my father, who was very dear to me. It was during the pandemic too, so I had no physical support of any of my friends, I’d be failing my online classes and I had nothing to look forward to in my life. Thankfully I’ve never had any serious mental health issues, and still thought life was worth living for, but still, it was a very hard time for me.

Up to that point I’ve never actually dated anyone either, I guess I could say I didn’t think of myself as someone who would deserve that. When I first started playing Our Life, it was under the pretense of being “ironic” and at first I couldn’t really get comfortable with the self insert aspect. It was still weird for me to put myself in a fictional context, and it required tons of imagination haha.

But as I got further and further into the story, I’d start getting flustered or agitated, but couldn’t find the strength in me to admit such ridiculous fact haha.. It became a guilty pleasure, and no one could know. What if they find out I actually want to be loved? For some reason that was a very impossible thing for me to admit. I like Cove because I was able to get to know him for long enough for me to start being comfortable with the idea of loving him. Because I got to see his fases and different sides. Because I had the liberty of deciding whether I was comfortable doing this or that, without it having to be forceful or inevitable in the story (common dating sim ick that I get ). (+ I’m demi)

After so many years of playing this game I truly feel like I grew up with him. Started playing close to step 2 age, now I between step 3 and 4 haha! I truly appreciate those years we’ve spent together even though they were scripted. And I can’t wait to spend even more time with him through the power of imagination and my drawings!! I’ll try my best to capture his ethereal beauty !!!

I’ve mentioned it briefly on this blog before, but I have an MC (who is basically me) but I get so embarrassed drawing yumeship art that I never gather the courage to post it !!! 😭 but if anyone’s interested I might give it a go.. also I’m sorry if I don’t interact with other Cove yumeship posts, I consider myself a non sharing yumeshipper, I get real sad… but that doesn’t mean I hate them!! It just means I’ll scroll and go through my day, hope you understand…

Anyway!!! Sorry for the random giant text, I just felt like this was a safe place for me to open up about my interests and hopefully someone might relate! Or smth

Do not, please, please, do not use shapes.inc, or any other ai chatbots, such as chatgpt, replika, or c.ai. Most of us know about the environmental impacts of the datacenters these things use, and the mass plagiarism, but I want to talk about something else, as the current tumblr ads are advertising something that wants to be your "friend".

They are extremely dangerous to your mental health, because they target you in a vulnerable place, exactly like an abuser would, that place being lonely. There have been many documented cases of chatbots warping peoples sense of reality so they are reliant on it for validation. It has ended in several suicides and murders. These machines are designed to encourage your opinions, making paranoid beliefs heighten. It has taken people from a normal and happy life to walking into traffic. It had a young man take his life.

I am BEGGING you all to not use it, but to help those around you. Please don't come off as hostile, because that leads them back to their abuser, as that is what these bots are. Tell them the reality and gravity of these situations because they need to hear it, and if they're young and won't listen please contact an adult, such as a councilor at school, yours or their parents if they are safe people, a teacher, or one of many helplines globally. Teens, especially mentally ill ones, are the biggest targets, but adults can fall prey to this to, so keep an eye on your loved ones, okay?

If you yourself are struggling with loneliness and feel this is your only place to turn, carefully join online communities, just remember human abusers can employ tactics like this, or join clubs in your community, such as school societies, athleisure centers, libraries, etc. Don't let them take another life.
