Tom Hanniger | My Bloody Valentine (2009)
âIt is very good to finally see you here. In truth this castle was starting to bore me greatly. Almost to the point that I have wanted to throw myself out the Moon Door.â
âWell I am most glad to be in service of my Queen. I got your summons. How can I help.â Aeron smiled wide showing off sharp teeth. dressed neatly looking more southern than ironborn, the court more at ease that way.
Elvira turned looking towards Aeron. Not much had changed, he was charming and cocky and he had remained that way through all the years. â I want to know what is happening at home. What the mainlanders think about their wedding. And how well my assassins did.â She said in a calm whisper.
Beautiful as ever Aerion bowed to her with respect. âThe Iron Isles are as strong as ever raiding and taking what is ours. Ships are being built and the works. The Mainlanders are at the least enraged by the act of violence, those not fleeing are searching for answers.Â
Unfortunately our friends didnât fair as well as we had hoped. The Princess and her Lion live, the Royals untouched. and the only casualties were a small number of minor useless lords and our men.. a Squire nearly died but he killed his attacker. a few of them were taken captive and from what i can gather are to be tortured for answers.â

âCan you feel it?â
"The winds of change are hard to miss."
âWell I do hope I donât miss my chance, I saw him at a tourney once. Me? oh I needed to stock supplies before going back out to sea again. my men needed some shore time, and I of course wanted to extend my congratulations to the royal family, though I suppose I may not be a welcome face presently. I havenât spent much time in the capital thought id get a feel for the place.â
âI am no Lord my Lady, captain or Aeron will suffice. I thought you might be a Tully, you carry yourself like one. Has Lord Robbyrt graced the capitol with his prescence?â
Captain, then. Well, I was born a Hightower, but I have been a Tully for so long perhaps I have forgotten how to be anything else. Yes, Lord Robbyrt was here, but he is no longer in the capital. Are you acquained?
âForgive me for not knowing much about mainland families, i spend much of my time at sea. No, but I have heard a great deal about him. was hoping i may have the chance to met him.â a polite smile made its way onto his face.
âOf course, but, and as much as it makes me want to hurl defending a mainlander,They were in a overcrowded building with few exits and most unarmed, while its smart on our part to trap them. the Kings guard and some of the most lethal fighters were there, had it come to a battle, even with more men. There is a good chance we wouldnât have won. Aryk Dayne, the Bane Clan, Waters and Mormont and several others could take out ten men easy if we donât do things smart. Iâve been doing my research like she asked, but iâm afraid im going to have to get...â he shudder âSoft and friendly with some mainlanders. if it wasnât for our king, i wouldnât bother.â he ran a finger slowly over his knife blade thinking. âTime and tact. Aegon has his eyes on us, he always has, and that blond whore is a terror, if we have them build it must be in small spurts and nothing too obvious, build while working repairs, if Aegon or anyone of the council thinks we are building an army, there will be dragons at our doors before the sun rises and we will be crushed. We need the allies on the main land, as it stands as strong as we are, we would not win on our own. We have the money, and the alliance of Arryn. but there is so much that is going into this. one wrong move, one slipped secret, and it could unravel.â Aeron didnât like how much work was ahead, he would love to storm the capitol and sack the city but Elvira wanted it different and he wouldnât disobey his Queen. Still he was smart enough to know an alliance with any mainland house enemy to crown or no was risky, betrayal was so easy to see unfolding.
She sighed leaning over him to grab herself some ale. â So itâs truly time.â She said taking the seat next to him. â Iâm surprised that sheâs acting so early. This will take a lot of planning. We should rally the other lords shouldnât we?âÂ
Aeron frowned and steepled his fingers. âI donât know, it is early, I think she wants to most likely talk strategy, King Euron raised her to be crafty and smart. Elvira wouldnât jump into something at the wrong time. The wedding was a test, and the way it went...â he trailed off annoyed, âIt didnât go as planned, they were too ready, too prepared and though it wasnât a perfect defense, they didnât take enough losses for it to be a success in her book. I think we should alert them and have them in the know. But I donât think we are ready for war just yet. The dragons must feed at sea some time, that is when the krakens and sharks will devour the beasts whole.â
âHold me to it as much as youâd like Minnow.â She said with a smirk. â I donât think it is that kind of invitation. How about you read it before making assumptions.â She shook her head. Men donât seem to think with their heads much. It was something that had always annoyed her, but she brushed it off waiting for Aeron to finish up his reading.Â
âI didnât mean it to come out that way. Last time Elvira summons me and I was late she nearly took my hand.â
â I highly doubt that.â She said rolling her eyes a bit. â Anyways what does she say in your letter?â
âShe wants me to come and see her in person. it said something about spilling the blood of our enemies and burning their cities. She also wants me to give her siblings her reguards.â he read to her before burning it over a nearby burning torch and tossing it in the bay.Â

âIf i had known Royal weddings were going to be a blood bath I wouldnât have burned my invitation, if i had gotten one that is.â
âAnd why do I find it so not surprising that of all people, you were not invited?â Renna asked slyly, stepping towards the Captain. Her dress swished behind her, and the look on her face showed that although she jested with him, the events had drawn on her.Â
âMost likely id rape their women and drink all the wine. any reason not to invite a Reaver.â he smiled and dipped his head respectfully to her. âCaptain Cerrena Greyjoy, a privilege to see you again, it has been far too long, I hope the seas have been fair and the hunt good.â he onced her over and whistled low. âNever thought iâd see you in a dress.â
aeronminnow:
âThe iron islands, I am Aeron Minnow of Pyke. And you?â
It is my pleasure to meet you, Lord Aeron. I am Lady Rossemary Tully of Riverrun.
âI am no Lord my Lady, captain or Aeron will suffice. I thought you might be a Tully, you carry yourself like one. Has Lord Robbyrt graced the capitol with his prescence?â
âIt is a cultural difference I would wager, I have heard from my travels in Essos that a Dothraki wedding without three deaths is a dull affair.â
We are fortunate, then, that the Dothraki do not attend our weddings. Where do you come from, my lord?
âThe iron islands, I am Aeron Minnow of Pyke. And you?â
aeronminnow:
âI meant it as nothing more than a compliment. Mainlander weddings can be so dull.â
Dull? Good men were hurt, some irreparably. Anyone should choose a dull and safe wedding over this.
âIt is a cultural difference I would wager, I have heard from my travels in Essos that a Dothraki wedding without three deaths is a dull affair.â
aeronminnow:
âIf i had known Royal weddings were going to be a blood bath I wouldnât have burned my invitation, if i had gotten one that is.â
Such callous wordsâŠ
âI meant it as nothing more than a compliment. Mainlander weddings can be so dull.â
âOf course he lies, we are ironborn, pillage, raper, murder and lie, drink until were go blind. I wouldnât want someone less then that.â he raised a brow she had a sharp tongue, and he found himself not liking it.but he had his orders and as much as it went against his will and desires he wouldnât disobey. He took a slow step forward getting right into her space and loaming over her,all humor gone from his body language.
âOh but I could, be it in ecstasy or pain. depends if she plays nice. There is no greater thrill i find then hearing some one plead and beg for mercy when they realize they crossed a line they shouldnât, Sweet little Karstark.â he grinned âIâm most sure The screams of a mother dying and her husband being slain count.â
As Aeron stepped toward her, Sansa stepped back. She hardly allowed those she knew to invade her space and she certainly wouldnât allow this Ironborn. She knew her retreat would make him think she was scared, but her facial expression remained defiant. As he spoke, the expression morphed into a disgusted sneer. She had never been spoken to in such a way, though she was not so naive that she had not heard the way some men talked. She would not be known for being faint of heart.
The phrasing was telling enough, but there was a sort of knowing glint in Aeronâs eye as well. She felt her nails dig into her palm and fought every urge to strike him. Her eyes narrowed. Useless! She told herself. All my silly swordplay and Iâm still useless.
âIâm sure youâd rather not be kept from your businessâwhatever it isâany longer,â she said with her jaw tensed. Her instinct for self-preservation finally outweighing any curiosity.
She had stepped back and while it showed weakness it also showed intelligence and for that she had earned some points back. not enough for him to care but enough not to kill her. She looked so determined and it was almost funny to him.almost. The look of anger and disgust gave him a satisfied feeling, and he relished it. she wanted to hit him and he almost wanted her to.
âAh yes I do believe you are right. Must not let my boss down. Iâ, afraid I must depart, but iâll be thinking of you Sweet little Karstark. Until we met again.â he gave her a mock bow before waving over one of his men, and departing not giving her a second glance as he left.
