There is not a canon pronounciation guide for Stormlight, unlike the one for Elantris. Brandon’s personal stance on it is that it’s up to interpretation. Basically, pronounce them how you like. He does give vague guides to people narrating the books for audio format, but even then he says the narrators change stuff around and that’s cool with him.

The J in most upper-class Vorin names is pronounced in-universe like a slavic Y, though. That has been confirmed. But, you know, there isn’t a whole bunch of people waiting to set you on fire if you like saying Jasnah a certain way.

I always love listening to people on their first read of WoK. It’s definitely a great book. Is this your first Sanderson read?

Thanks for the help! The main reason I asked was on the very slim chance I actually did a voice recording, I didn’t anyone to be confused on who I talked about.

As for my first Sanderson book? Technically, it’s my fourth, if you count the last three Wheel of Time books. Other than that, yep! My first full Sanderson read.
