10 feminist books to read after you've gotten through the classics

The feminist canon gets an intersectional update.

“Literature has always been the foundation of the feminist movement. Since the 18th century, when Mary Wollstonecraft wrote A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, women have used print to spread knowledge and awareness, and promote feminist ideas.

Okay, I’m a bit late posting this but I am still recovering from a wonderful weekend where I saw Solange and MIA in concert.

First of all Solange has an even better live show than the last time I saw her. The confidence level, dance moves&grooves, and vocal performance were turned all the way up (not to mention the new live arrangements were SO hot and steamy–).

Right at the end of Losing You, she comes over to our side of the crowd and I hand her the painting I was working on over the past few days. She is super ecstatic and mouthing thankyou, and then goes up to the mic and says (paraphrased) “I remember you~! I still have your painting from last time. For all my fans who are artists in their own right just keep going~” (she said some other things too, but the more I try to remember the more I embellish and pretend we are homies on a first name basis).

I wrote a more vivid detailed account before but the internet swallowed my post whole so those nuances are gone+caught up in the rapture.

So the lesson is, I’ve made goddess contact with two paintings successfully handed to Solange, and 1.5 painting successfully handed to Beyonce.

I only have to attend 1 more Solange concert, 2 more Beyonce performances, a Kelly rowland album signing, and a Michelle Williams Sunday Gospel Brunch/listening party to solidify these friendships.
