i’ve had a small project in 2023, something to keep me sane
it was placed in the intersection of fan studies, literary criticism, poetry, cultural studies in general etc etc etc and also my own fandom of choice in those times — succession
screenshots with quotes from my favourite 2000s postsoviet poet were a giant part of this thing
the quote from barthes in the header is a key to it: I was trying to subvert both texts by quoting and intersecting them; books by s. lvovsky and succession were things of highest affective potential for me three years ago, so it seemed reasonable to represent my fandom emotions with bricollaging them (also it was a good illustration for some other things)
I’ve planned to translate the whole project the same year, but got too caught up with other things
the idea kept haunting me, so here i am! i hope i’ll finish and share the whole work soon
for now I have some word-for-word translations of the poetry+screenshot part of it, so I'll post them here. work in progress and all
