Photoshop Tutorial - Adjustment Layers, Healing, Spot Healing, Clone Tools, Colour Matching
A while ago I did have a Photoshop lesson. However, I am re-doing it because I never took screen shots to show you lovely people. The first stage I look at is creating adjustment layers, now with adjustment layers you can add a special effect to them, such as curves. Curves are very good for creating the tone of the image, using bars running up diagonally you can adjust the tone to how you desire.
Using the healing tool and holding down ‘alt’ you can duplicate an element of an image. The spot healing tool is amazing for demolishing wrinkles and lines, I have had an attempt on an image of a rhino. The spot healing tool is very useful for fashion magazine editors. Another great tool to use it the Clone tool, for this experiment I used a photograph of a lamp, pressing down alt I creating a duplicate of the lamp.
Thirdly, using the rectangular marquee tool and the clone tool I can manage to demolish items. An image with a Jeep in a desert was a good challenge. It was very tricky as items can duplicate, but with time and concentration you can make it look very realistic.
The last experiment I engaged on was the colour matching. By using the magnetic tool I selected around the top of the blue lady, switching to the red top I sampled it holding down shift and using the lasso tool. Switching back again to the blue top I clicked on image> adjustments> match colour. After I selected the red lady. This made the blue top go to red. Using this technique is handy for editors who can change colours of clothing to sell, instead of make the model try on several colours.
Investigate!
Here is a sampling of the cloth that my fellow workshoppers produced over the course of a weekend. As I mentioned in the previous post, all warps were set up and ready to go - 6 warps with a selection of 3 set-ups (block draft, point draft, and deflected dw)

Now to put my faux antique lace into repeat!
I want to try something in this vein. Hmm, need to really push myself to sit and begin.

"For almost 1,000 years, the Rabari have roamed the deserts and plains of what is today western India. It is believed that this tribe, with a peculiar Persian physiognomy, migrated from the Iranian plateau more than a millennium ago. The Rabari are now found largely in Gujarat and Rajasthan.”
I'd love to take a workshop on how to create jewelry like this. Casting metals and placing semi-precious stones. I am fascinated.
