Adobe Fuse - My First Time
Whilst doing my regular updates on creative cloud I came across a software on there called Adobe Fuse. Now to my knowledge Fuse allows the user to create 3D characters which can then be saved on either CC libraries or Mixamo, characters can also be brought into Photoshop CC (which i’m later to experiment with).
As you can see above I have been playing around with the basic effects and found it highly amusing to make this poor lady very ugly. It reminds me when I use to spend ours creating my characters from the Sims 2 before even building them their house or making them ‘live’.
There’s some great ‘fuse’ add-ons online and i’m very interested to do some more exercises with this. Steam also seems to play a big part in fuse at it allows users to create characters for gaming.

Maleficent
Acrylic on Canvas
Offset A1, Landscape
A painting which I cannot wait to give to my sister for her christmas present, she loves Maleficent so couldn’t think of anything better than to paint her this, it includes glitter and some shimmery paints. The painting has taken me 6 days to do which i’m pretty proud of myself for doing. Using a new set of flat brushes also makes all the difference to how the painting presents its textures and lines.
‘Misplacement’
Foundation students were given an interesting task to choose an object and place it in an unusual surrounding/environment. I thought I’d give this a go myself. I found this beautiful shell on the seafront and decided to migrate it to the grass and on top of my macbook.
My favourite out of the two is the shell in the grass. It still remains in a natural surrounding but at the same time is still out of the ordinary. Shells are found on the beach, and are no where to be found on land unless physically put there.
Peter Blake Exhibition - De La Warr
“Throughout his long and prestigious career Blake has created several series of works based around the alphabet related to his enduring interest in childhood innocence and nostalgia, and Victorian and Edwardian graphic illustration. Using vintage cards, magazines, books and other found ephemera, he assembles collages that are at once whimsical, humorous and fascinating. He began using found letters and commercial lettering in the 1950s and, as a young artist, allied himself with decorators, sign painters and commercial artists.”
Today was my first time doing some teaching work experience which I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to visit the Peter Blake exhibition called ‘Alphabets, Letters and Numbers’. It was nice to re-visit some typography based work since I finished university.
It’s nice to appreciate the effort, design and thought process by some of Blake’s work; one piece had each letter relating to a font. For example, the ‘C’ was in the style of Comic-Sans.

My-Food-Ed - Display
Final Animation ‘Introduction, facts and tests’
Presentation Boards - To Print - A3 - Landscape
Final animation for ‘Interactive Games Preview’
Only a few sound effects have been added so it doesn’t get irritating for the user. Sound can be turned off anyway using the iPad volume settings.
The final animation for ‘Companions’
Music has been added to give it a bubbly and fun feel.
Companions
Cathy Carrot, Lily Lettuce, Sally Strawberry, Suzy Sausage, Wally Water, Olly Olive, Penny Pineapple
Final Cover
This is the final cover for the educational food application. Using the re-designed characters I have zoomed in to their faces to show emotions. Making it funny and discrete, this is so the user can investigate into seeing what it’s all about.
After Effects Framework Walkthrough - Home-page, Facts & Tests
A few new characters have been created for my application!
I have taken out characters that didn’t really work and replaced them with either a new body or a completely different fruit!
My Food Ed Initial Presentation
This will not be the final presentation boards, but it’s a start so I can see my progress and what I will need to improve.
Adobe Illustrator File - Version Three
Every cloud has a silver lining. After my memory stick went bust and lost my assets for the application I was creating I have re-developed the framework again, but been able to refine colours, text and sizes. I have also cut frames out as the ones shown will be what’s animated later tonight on After Effects.
I still have to create the companions again, but this time I’m creating only a view for samples. As my animation only uses one character and another animation just swipes through a selection of them.
