I try my best to tag spoilers for new swtor content (when we have new content), but I'm pretty bad at tagging anything that could be considered spoilers for older content and for class stories. My general tagging scheme is "swtor [thing that's being tagged]", whether that be the name of an expansion, the name of an origin story, or the expansion number when content is new. When I post about playing the actual game, I use the tag ‘november plays swtor’. I often avoid using just the general ‘swtor’ tag because I feel like it’s sometimes a minefield. Character tags are ‘oc: [character name]’ but not all of them have a lot to be found (and some I forgot if I was using their full or nickname).

The only swtor fic I think I still have publicly available because it’s the only one I’m proud of: it’s the way that you are and the way I’ll forever be (tulia/zhorrid with agent/hand of Jadus spoilers and major character death)

(I also went through a spree of deleting almost everything I had ever posted of my own writing because I really don’t want my writing ever to be fed into an LLM, especially without my consent or knowledge, even if it’s not good or interesting, that would just piss me off. Unfortunately that means a number of my fics and wips are entirely lost but I would rather that than feed the machine.)

I only ran 1 of my idiots through the new story so far (I don’t have a ton of them current, several are close, but some I stopped around the beginning of the Hidden Chain stuff because I started getting bored with Mando drama)

Spoilers for 7.9 below

It doesn’t help that the character I ran through is… canon-complicit at best. Tulia was never Cipher Nine, but she was always in the periphery of the main Agent storyline and became the Hand of Jadus, so I wanted to bring her through all of the Jadus-related content in the hopes that there would be some small payout there.

And there were at least some tiny crumbs to be had for Hand of Jadus agents, like a line about how the Imperial delegation were ‘lucky Jadus betrayed [me],’ suggesting that if he hadn’t, the Commander would have returned to his service, to which Lana responds that Acina (or Vowrawn, presumably, depending on your playthrough) and Krovos know your history with Jadus and want to punish you for it. But then that was kind of it. There’s no real closure for the Agent and Jadus. If you tell your team that no one touches Jadus or that you will personally handle him, everyone agrees with you, but that doesn’t matter, because once you actually get to the heart of the fortress on Kar Shian, it’s the Malgus show.

Shae’s death felt like yet another forced companion death. Sure, it was a touching scene, but like. Why do you have to kill off companions all the damn time? At least none of our class companions are even around doing anything to be in the line of fire, I guess.

I had seen fan theories leading up to the patch that running Nul’s machine would reveal a Force sensitivity in our non-Force-sensitive player characters. And it did make for a cool cinematic moment. But I really don’t know how practically they’re gonna do anything with that moving forward. I’ve been let down way too many times by the promise of ‘your choices matter!’ only to be shoehorned back into the same result from every side.

Still kind of rotating some of it, but not like. overly so, I guess.

I think my favorite part was seeing Maiya Vix again. I’m glad she’s still alive. (for those unfamiliar, she’s Lord Hargrev’s assistant on Oricon, helping him manage the troops and ground operations when you arrive. If I had to guess, resurrecting an old model NPC who is already voiced by one of your main NPC actors is probably easier than making a new one from scratch but still, I always liked her.)

Anyway, I’m sure others have already had way more coherent thoughts than I have on the new story. It was a longer chunk of gameplay than we have gotten in some recent updates, the Kar Shian is exterior shots were pretty, as were some of the Fortress interiors, the playing as your allies bits were interesting, but overall I’m kinda 🤷

Last song on repeat - I deleted my spotify app ages ago and haven’t reliably replaced it with anything else, so for music I mostly rely on whatever happens to pop into my head (or whatever the neighbor down the hall is blasting).

Currently watching - I don’t actually keep up with any tv these days, aside from the gifs my friends on here reblog (like. I generally know the plot of several shows that I’ve never actually watched a second of).

Last movie - Uhhh. I know that the last movie Spouse and I watched in a theater was Detective Pikachu. I have probably watched another one at home since then, but I can’t remember what for the life of me.

Currently reading - A Steeping of Blood by Hafsah Faizal. I read the first one, A Tempest of Tea, when it first came out, and did not pay attention when the second one came out, oops.

Currently playing - I mostly just bounce between swtor and Palia.

Spicy, sweet, savory - I guess probably savory? I like all three, but it depends on mood. I don’t like spice that’s just there to burn you and make you prove that you can tolerate the heat, but I do enjoy spice that balances other flavors. And I don’t like sweet to be overpowering.

Current obsession - I guess probably the swtor ocs? I don’t feel particularly obsessed with anything at the moment.

Last google Duck Duck Go (fuck google) search - I think my last search was for our polling location for upcoming local elections.

Currently working on - I don’t have any current creative projects, and I’m not super focused on any of my goals in swtor. I’m trying to get back into enjoying cooking, so that’s kind of a work-in-progress.

What this means for the state of galactic politics as war brews on the horizon is yet to be seen, but having secured his loyalty during the campaign against the Eternal Empire, the Alliance can afford to rely on his goodwill in upcoming negotiations. However, he may not be the only shadow lurking in the power vacuum Acina left, and how long his reign may last is dubious at best.
