Unit 1 - These are my lanyard nets that I have coloured in using the same colour palettes as my Michael Craig-Martin lanyards. I used Adobe Sketch on my iPad and an Apple Pencil.

Unit 1 - These are my lanyard nets that I have coloured in using the same colour palettes as my Michael Craig-Martin lanyards. I used Adobe Sketch on my iPad and an Apple Pencil.
Unit 1 - This is a step by step visual recording of how I created my digital net of my lanyard. It was a very difficult process as I needed it to be the correct measurements once printed. After a few different trials I figured how to get the correct measurements on screen and once printed. Once I had my technique sorted, I drew out all of the elements of the lanyard using the straight line tool. I included the tabs as these are what hold the net together once assembled. I then added all the details on my ID and my strap. I am quite happy with the final outcome, to improve I could do the details on the strap neater.
Equipment used:
iPad (Adobe Sketch)
Apple Pencil
Ruler
These are multiple digital drawings I have done of my lanyard. I created these in 4 different colour ways using Adobe Sketch on my IPad with a Apple Pencil. These illustrations are inspired by Michael Craig-Martin, I researched his work before I created my own drawings. I did this so I had an idea of how much detail he puts into his work and how big his colour palett is. I am very happy with the outcome, to improve next time I would add more detail on my ID photo.
Unit 4 Materials, techniques and processes: project 2 paper city - This is my final piece for this project it is inspired by Julian Opie. I have used 2 point perspective. I used Adobe sketch on an iPad to create this digital cityscape.
Unit 3 The Creative Process - On adobe sketch I have created a digital drawing of a petrol station that I have taken a picture of and I am simplifying it to be in the style of Patrick Caulfield. I have not yet finished it but this is one of my favourite samples so far.
Unit 3 The Creative Process - I went out and took photos of road signs as part of my research. I took photos of road signs as I have a large amount of photos of buildings and wanted a variation of subjects from the Urban Environment.
Drawing Skills - Today I did some weaving using coloured images from books. I really enjoyed learning this new skill and would like to explore and experiment with it further in my work.
Unit 3 The Creative Process - This is a collage inspired by Patrick Caulfield I have made whilst sampling for the urban environment. I have done this as I like that he uses minimal colours and gives a simple black outline. I am going to add a outline with a black fineliner.
I am happy with the outcome but I feel that the scale of the collage and drawing is off as I have done it too small.
Unit 1 Visual Recording and Communication - This is me making a glue stick out of card. It was a difficult process as the measurements were tricky to get right. The width was hard to get right as when I went to join the glue stick together it was always too small so I had to add a few centimetres on to make it bigger but then I also had to enlarge the lid. Then I had to make the bottom and top of the glue stick separately so I could have every aspect of the object correct.
I am going to carry on experimenting with 3D paper objects and creating other stationary objects.
Unit 1 Visual Recording and Communication - I am doing some measured drawings of different stationary items. These are inspired by Katherine Morling as she creates series of ceramic objects that include stationary but I am going to draw them and digitise them and maybe make some paper objects out of them.
During the holidays, I visited Salts Mill as part of my blended learning task. I visited the David Hockney exhibition as he does a large amount of his work on a iPad, as do I, this was an exciting experience as I got to see a real example of professional work that has been created on a iPad.
Unit 14 Textile Materials, Techniques and Processes - This is me doing some appliqué at home. To complete this process I utilised some calico, patterned fabric and bonda web which holds it all together. My outcome was successful but I did struggle along the way, as I forgot to iron it the second time once I had peeled away the bonda web. Other than that I enjoyed this process and will continue exploring the textiles technique. To improve it I might add some hand stitching on the outside.
Unit 14 Textile Materials, Techniques and Processes - Today I was doing some quilting with blue fabric with a white flowery fabric layered on top. I had some red fabric as well with wadding in between to create the quilted effect. I hand stitched a leaf onto it as it links in with the flowers. I thoroughly enjoyed doing this and am going to keep experimenting with this technique.
Unit 14 Textile Materials, Techniques and Processes - This is my inspiration board for my theme which is luggage and Morocco as I like the patterns and colours used in their culture.
Unit 14 Textiles, materials, techniques and processes - These are some books I am reasearching from for my inspiration board for travel. I am trying to find modern luggage as well as vintage, so I can compare how it has changed overtime.
Unit 1 Visual recording and communcication - This is a digital drawing of my lanyard inspired by Michael Craig Martin. I have done this using Adobe Sketch on an Ipad with the Apple Pencil for precision. I used the ink pen tool.
Unit 3 The Creative Process - These are some photos I took whilst out in Boston Spa as part of my research for the Urban Environment.
