Newt having to say goodbye to Jacob
in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)
That scene tells so much about characters' development. Probably one of my fav' in the series

Three moods when I see my favorite artists/writers
#do you ever just want to cry because of how much Newt Scamander loves and adores his creatures #and how he looks at them, talks to them and treats them with such genuine care and affection
What was the major motivating factor behind writing your first ever fanfic?
Canon made you THAT angry
Desire to fill in the gaps canon left
Almighty need to put Blorbo in Situations™
The queer baiting worked
Horny
Other (put in the tags or replies)
For reference mine was I was so mad at the canon ending for my favourite character in an otome game that I wrote fanfic to fix it
drew a constant mood on the mind
Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)
i miss him (fictional character that i can rewatch or reread at any time i want)
@scamanderishredmayniac I feel you
You’re too good, Newt. You never met a monster you couldn’t love.
- You know your eyes really are...
- Are what?
- I'm not supposed to say.
That last gif will always put a lump in my throat. Newt has been struggling with his feelings for Tina throughout the entire film because he thinks she loves someone else and she thinks he loves someone else and he’s fighting himself trying to go with Jacob’s advice on how to express himself to her... and he finally says to hell with it and expresses himself in the only way he knows how even though he’s pretty sure Tina won’t understand a word of it. And in that last moment, Tina gets it, and in that last gif Eddie so brilliantly conveys that it mentally and emotionally breaks Newt. People who are on the spectrum often have such a difficult time trying to communicate situations like this and it’s beyond frustrating to the point of madness. To have someone actually understand and be able to communicate back to them in that manner is painfully beautiful and he played that moment with absolute perfection.

By the end of “The Crimes of Grindelwald” she’s absolutely getting her copy of his book :)
you’re one of us now
Turns out I love mod AUs fml
This will be forever/never actually going up because this is a very personal project. And I’d very much like to finish Older, or Two Brothers and a Train Station first. But we will see! Maybe once I get it written up to the first plot ‘fall’ I’ll be ready to post it
Newt Scamander
Got it hit with the “I feel like everyone has a character they trauma bonded to in the worst time of your life.”
*looks at blog name* first off, rude—
I just found out that Scamander means awkward man or long man in the original Greek translation, more or less, from the myth. I can't believe I didn't know that. 'Awkward man'?
I do not need to say more.
Really? For real? No way!
Yes, it is + the water and Troyan war reference. Names in FB are so deeply charged, that's so fun
Wow! That’s crazy, I thought Scamander just was another name for lizard. That’s interesting. Although while the name suits Newt, can’t say the same for Theseus. Lol!
Well Scamander just sounds close to salamander (who aren't lizards but are in Newt's book 😅)
About Theseus, I think he HAS his own oddities, they are just under a better mask than Newt's. His hugs and various public marks of affection are some, IMO (FB is supposed to happen in the 20s, and he's supposed to be a high officer...). I do think he suffered more pressure as the elder and learnt better to hide. But that's only how I imagined "my" character background
