The other end of the string

When I came home that day, I was feeling pretty happy and optimistic. It had been a great, sunny Saturday. I had been training with the guys and then we all hung out for a while. No exams to study for, no homework left to do... Yes, it was almost the perfect day. Until I collapsed on my bed and saw that picture by my desk.

It was my favourite picture of us, it probably still is. Zoe took it with my phone. It was after a night out at the cinema, I believe... maybe we had been watching a soccer match... i don't know. I just know we both look great there -and happy. She's simply radiant, smiling and looking pretty. 

Suddenly, a pinch of sadness hit stabbed my heart. We hadn't met in ages. It had been more or less two weeks since we had last spoken... and I felt I was my fault. Maybe I hadn't picked up the phone everytime she'd called. Maybe I should've suggested a place to hang out...

Maybe.
